but ive noticed that sedative drugs alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines are the worst offenders for physical addiction and withdrawls once your heavy into them. we all no opiate addiction is no walk in the park benzo withdrawls are just plain rotten and ive even heard that alcoholism can give addiction to opiates a run for its money. not to mention withdrawls from benzos and opiates can sometimes be fatal (i dont even think meth can do that if its physically addicting).
more often than not or even the majority of the time sedatives/narcotics are physically addicting. wheras stimulants like cocaine and amphetamines have little if any potential for physical addiction (again there may be a few exceptions). why is this? what is it about downer drugs that have the potential to make you physically dependant and dish out deadly withdrawls? what is the pharmacology behind this? are there recreational drugs that arent downers that have potential for physical addiction?
im just curious is all
