OK before anyone warns me. I know this will be a very concentrated solution. I live alone in my apartment no kids no pets no 1 to accidentally dose it. I have social anxiety disorder and have a legit prescription for Xanax 90x 1mg pills per month. I have no insurance and I can't afford 90 dollar doctor visit plus another <snip - lots of money> for the pills. That's <snip - an expensive amount> a month just for my anxiety. So I found a Chinese supplier and got 10 grams of pure alprazolam for <snip - a low price> + shipping (and it actually weighed 11.4g so ty China for the fat sack). So for the price of 1 month I now have enough Xanax to treat me for many years.
Now I cannot find this information but I need to know the exact max solubility of alprazolam at room temperature (75F or 23.89C) in 100% pure propylene glycol. I have a 4 ounce (120mL) Air tight seal dark amber (94% light blockage) glass vial and a 1mL calibrated borosilicate medicine dropper with specially calibrated bent tip that provides 1mL per 20 drops. It also has lines on it that go in 0.1mL increments up to the 1mL it holds. I want to leave an ounce of empty space so will only be filling it up with 90mL of propylene glycol. Since 20 drops = 1mL I would like to get the concentration up to 20mg per 1mL so 1 drop = the same as taking a 1mg pill. If 20mg per 1mL is not possible because the PG solvent isn't capable of holding that much then I'd be willing to go to 10mg alprazolam per 1mL of PG solvent which would give me 0.5mg per drop. If 10mg per 1mL is not possible then I could go to 5mg per 1mL which would be 0.25mg per drop. That's really the lowest concentration I would go. so for 90mL of PG I need 450mg of alprazolam for 5mg/1mL solution (0.25mg/drop) or 900mg of alprazolam in 90mL PG for 10mg/1mL solution (0.50mg/drop) or 1800mg alprazolam in 90mL of PG for 20mg/1mL solution (1mg/drop).
So I know exactly what I want to do. I have all the ingredients here. I just would like some concrete solubility facts before i proceed. I don't want to mess up anything and waste anything or dose it wrong. Hopefully PG can hold at the minimum 20mg/1mL more would be fine too. If I end up having to dose it as 10mg/1mL or 5mg/1mL I probably will just use the 0.1mL increments and dose 1.6mL if 5mg/1mL concentration or 0.8mL if its 10mg/1mL concentration as it won't be worth the hassle of counting drops but with the 1mg per drop 20mg/1mL concentration counting drops is the way to go and is the way I'd like to do this. I have THIS milligram digital scale. The Jennings / JScale JS-VG20 Digital Pocket Scale has 20 gram capacity with a 0.002 gram resolution. I know this scale is not accurate enough for anything below 10-15mg so I can't use it to measure my doses straight from the powder but for the amounts I'd be weighing to dose in liquid form (450mg or 900mg or 1800mg) it's more than accurate enough. I'd say anything that's dosed at 20mg or above it's accurate enough to dose right from the powder but Xanax does not fall in that category hence why I'm doing liquid dosing.
So the main question of this post is.. What is the maximum solubility of alprazolam in room temperature (75F 23.89C) 100% pure pharmaceutical grade propylene glycol? Preferably in the format [MAXIMUM mg of alprazolam able to be dissolved/1mL PG] I need it to be able to dissolve AT LEAST 5mg/1mL but would prefer greatly 20mg/1mL. Please somebody out there has the answer I need. You will be helping out a guy with social anxiety disorder that can't afford to see the doctor and pay for scripts. Also I know both of my ingredients are totally pure got the propylene glycol directly from the pharmacy I work at, it's the purest pharmaceutical grade you can buy. And the alprazolam is definitely pure, I blacked out for 12 hours off the tiniest little bump snorted (this stuff is impossible to eyeball or weigh properly [unless you have a multi thousand dollar laboratory milligram scale]) and the lab testing sheet that came with it indicated 99.998% pure alprazolam so I know my starting ingredients are exactly what they say they are so I don't have to worry about an impure starting point messing it up.
-sigh- I can't believe that there is no information on the max alprazolam PG can fully dissolve at room temp. Why am I not allowed to know this :/
