Not really the weather for porridge but I wanted to do something with the awesome fresh blueberries I got from the farmers market. Cooked in 50/50 milk and water and a heaped teaspoon of brown sugar. I want to try it with some frozen mixed berries that I have or get some frozen raspberries too.

Everyone enjoying mango season?? :)
 
I have bought a few plantains the last few weeks and putting them in curries. The first time I used it I left overcooked it a touch so I am going to make the chunks bigger this time. Tastes like potato with the slightest edge of sweetness in there. Because they are green they are difficult to peel so tonight I am going to cut the peel off, maybe losing a little but its quite a big one anyway.

I have one that has ripened up too so I am going to slice it and fry it in a pan. I have seen photos of them being place whole into the coals of a fire.. I would love to try that one day :)
 
Might have to cook these up and have them on a piece of toast. Not a big fan of tomato in salad :)
