Mass Shootings and Gun Debate 2019ish

Actually, I'm British you infidel @andyturbo , which is why I *alone* among this lot of heathens understand the importance of cake in literally EVERYTHING. I'd quote you something Marie Antionette once said but it would go over all your heads.

I'm sure by now you know the way I often work... I win wars by deception

I’m surprised this isn’t up yet. A shooter entered church in White Settlement, TX (it’s really the name) and killed two parishioners (apparently one died right there). Then a congregant (or multiple ones, I’ve seen differing accounts) who happened to be armed took the shooter out.
So armed killer killed by armed churchgoer(s).

I strongly disagree with you on the topic of guns. Fully automatic guns are absurdly easy to manufacture, and mass shooters will easily buy them, or have them made, or will make them themselves. Now that technology of gun making is here, the only answer is that everyone is armed with high capacity magazine automatics. Smarter people will evacuate cities for a life in the country, the less smart or able will remain in said cities, having to live surrounded with guns. And let's face it, when everyone has a gun, people tend to be much nicer to each other. Finally, mass shootings are a function of how broken society is, and not of how many guns there are. Now check the following link to witness the simplicity of making fully automatic guns. https://thehomegunsmith.com/pdf/Stengunplans.pdf

Ok, so build one. I'll wait. I've got a wealth of experience in the trades including carpentry, automotive, machining, HVAC, welding, and smithing. The reality check is that 98% of the population couldn't follow these plans and in reality, why would they? The commonality of simple firearms in the US especially are easy to acquire. LARPers tend to bandy about these plans in many situations making the assumption that suddenly the populace is going to understand the difference between cutting fluid, tempering colors, and crayons is frighteningly off base and not a little bit hilarious. Personally, I could very easily accomplish a scratch stock style of barrel rifling with little effort but I'm not Joe Surburban pretending that I understand the mechanical necessity of doing so.
