Mass Shooting and Gun Control Megathread

I think both the Democrats and Republicans are lying to us. There's a lot of urban violence and Gun Control alone isn't working. Prohibition of Alcohol and Drugs didn't work, why should we even try that route with guns is beyond me. If anyone has a genuine answer to this problem I'd sure like to hear it because the problem is getting worse.

Dayton really surprised me - i was there for 2 weeks for a class - it was a super laid back small town to me idk :shrug:

ppl were friendly - i liked it there - a little too boring for me at the time but i liked it - i think that was in 2000

The downtown area has become a lot more hipsterfied with patio bars and stuff like that. Gun crime is probably still higher now than back then

I wish Trump didn't say it, because now a lot of people will automatically dismiss it because of that, but I think he's right when he mentioned broken homes/families.

I never got in trouble until my parents got divorced, and then I started skipping school and getting in trouble, eventually getting convicted of a felony gun charge, which thankfully was when I was still a minor. I think that is how it goes for a lot of kids in broken homes/families
 
Man having helicopter parents ain’t gonna fix mass murderers; it’ll probably only increase it. My parents were on me 24/7 like flies on shit, and no I didn’t buy any illicit firearms, but it sure as hell led me to seek out a lot of drugs and sex, for years after I was away from them even.

People shouldn’t be giving their children iPhones but they also shouldn’t be spying on them 24/7.
 
Yes the kids being raised in sungle parent households is a problem, the even bigger problem is the kids living in a single parent home with the father in jail and the mother trying to raise multiple kids under state support as an addict, I see a lot of this in Las Vegas, it’s the exact situation my niece would be in if I didn’t get guardianship…I know this might sound fucked up, but Iv actually thought maybe it might be better if you needed to get a permit to have a kid, like have to first prove your capable emotionally physically and financially to take care of a child

I think the solution is to simply start giving away free guns to everyone over the age of 18.

I can't find a map yet that is gun deaths for like 12-25 years olds, or something like that age group.

I have stuff to do but will look again later when I log back in

or is that just some far left wuss shit that snafu follows on reddit?
