I have two similar pills, one called x-factor and the other called hockey pucks (or hockey sticks). Both have a similar logo of an "x" with one line curved the other straight. The x-factor is larger and has a score on the back, while the hockey puck is smaller and has no score.
The reactions.. x-factor turned black gradually over ten seconds with a dark brownish tint at first and no bubbles. It didn't start for about 3 seconds. The hockey puck fizzled a lot at turned black within a second.
I have only tried the x-factor and it was a mellow, but clean roll. Questions.. does the brown tint on the x-factor and the bubbling on the hockey puck mean anything significant?

No, not really.
Could be binding agent orso.
As long as the result is darkpurple / almost black rather quickly, it indicates an xtc like substance.

I find that a pill that turns brown first and then gradually turns black is MDA. I've tested MDA pills listed in dancesafe.org and this is how it turns out on the ez test. MDMA pills don't have the brown reaction first and just turns black faster than a MDA reaction.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Azn:
Almost every pill I test has a hint of brown up front. This includes Buddahs and Yellow Motorolas tested at Dance Safe as MDMA only. They show a hint of brown for a second and then go black and then slowly to purple. I think the Tulips I had were MDA as they felt very different (details posted elsewhere) but the only difference I noticed in the test was that there was a green ring around the sample after it sat for a while.

"I've tested MDA pills listed in dancesafe.org "
Well then, this is where you or DanceSafe goes wrong if I may say so....
If they list a certain pill that contains mda, do you really think that if you got a pill like that it will also contain mda ??
Wrong !
You can have 2 identical looking/weighing etc pills and they can contain different substances, different dosage etc.
The best example was my Snoopy, I had it tested and it was compared to the DIMS database.
They had around 20 different Snoopys that were exactly the same as mine.
Some had mdma, some had mda, some had mdea or a mix. Dosage varied from 20 to 200 mg.
I don't know whether DanceSafe states this somewhere on their page but assuming that your pill contains the same stuff as a pill listed on that page is not a good idea....
