A quick fix for outdoor smokers

NIPPING out for a quick smoke is about to become even quicker. Philip Morris, the tobacco giant, is planning a “snack-size” cigarette for the smoking-ban age.

The compact cigarette will be shorter than existing brands but just as smoky: it will deliver the same potency while taking less time to puff.

Marlboro Intense is designed to appeal to employees who are forced to take quick outdoor cigarette breaks while at work, often in cold weather.

Philip Morris will test the cigarette in Turkey but believes it has worldwide potential, with more than 50 countries now having bans on smoking in public places.

The cigarette, which is 7.2cm long, compared with the normal 8.5cm, may offer some solace to smokers who face an even colder trip for their breaks if MEPs have their way.

Last week, as part of the battle to combat climate change, MEPs demanded a ban on patio heaters, which many outdoor smokers rely on for warmth at work or while socialising.

Stephen Pound, the MP who voted against the ban and then stopped smoking the next day, said: “The desperation of the smokers knows no limits; it’s only matched by the desperation in Philip Morris trying to corner the market.”

A spokesman for Forest, the pro-smoking lobby group, said: “The real pity is that smokers have to be rushed at all because people enjoy the sensation of having a cigarette.”

Yeah, it's not coke, H, or mdma, but still gotta love seeing the licit drugs being tweaked and amped. Caffeine, ethanol, and nicotine are the only 'okay' drugs, still makes me smile seeing them become stronger.
(hmmm, I wonder if you could chemically tweak one of the legal drugs to the point where it was so much better that they'd have to ban it :) )

This is fucking sweet. Standing in the freezing cold just to finish a cigarette sucks. Also, if the same effect can be achieved with less smoke that means clothes will smell slightly less like cigarettes. no real downside to this that I can pinpoint.

^hey, their choice, their bodies

and you can't deny its usefulness in the cold and in the workplace

it doesnt seem that much smaller though... 7.2 compared to 8.5? thats about one centimeter shorter...

besides enabling people to smoke more, faster?
That's a downside...why? I'd say it's very clear you're NOT a smoker, although I find it odd you don't see this as cool for smokers. If there was a cool new delivery system for coke I'd think it was good, even though I strongly dislike coke myself.

its just like in the 5th element where everyone smokes really short cigs that are rationed out. these sound pretty good. smoking outside sucks balls. ive actually cut back on smoking because i have to go utside now if i want one.

That's dumb.... Any smoker can tell you that the 1.3 cm doesn't make a difference at all. I don't smoke often and I can demolish a good 5 mm in a pull if I wanted to. If Marlboro really wants to please smokers they'll finally release their snus nationwide. (And Camel too >:o)

I think the point is that they're much more potent and don't need as much length for the same hit.

Wonder if you could import a carton of these from turkey, that would be cool.

Yeah, but my point is that it takes maybe 30 seconds for a daily smoker to finish that extra centimeter.

isnt this kinda like the 72s?
Basically, just stronger.

'shrugs' I'm not a smoker, but apparently they're also twice as strong, so perhaps this is a conspiracy and the length part is just an excuse, in reality they want to get people more hooked?

No, not really. It also makes sense because you can only have one or two cigarettes during work when you would be normally having up to 8. Making those two twice as strong makes plenty of sense.

and you really believe that people who are limited on the number of cig breaks they can take are the only people or even the majority that will take up these new, high nicotine cigs?

^ Who cares? Do you think that the only people that will be buying isopropyl alcohol will be using it to clean cuts and not to extract for example DMT from plants?

I detest cigarette brands that burn too quickly.

Yeah, I am a nicotine addict for ten years now - but I am also addicted to the act of smoking and I like to smoke for 6minutes+ at a time.

back in my day we had these

they were called

UN-FUCKING-FILTERED!

goddam this is stupid. wanna get more nicotine, faster? throw out that stupid filter ya big pussy
