Hey, my account name is asasdsas for anonymity purposes, but you can call me Mark. I'm 18 years old, and a student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. I am also an actor (primarily for stage, but I've done some film work) and a musician. I also write and direct occasionally. I grew up in Los Angeles, but when I'm not at school I live on a little island off the coast of Washington state called San Juan Island.
Now that I've probably revealed way more personal information than I should, here's a list of stuff I like in no particular order.
Theatre (Shakespeare, Tony Kushner, Arthur Miller, Lanford Wilson)
Movies (Short Term 12, Annie Hall, The Godfather, The Decline of Wester Civilization Trilogy, On the Waterfront, anything directed by Stanley Kubrick)
Music (Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Led Zeppelin, Against Me!, Beach House, Bon Iver, MGMT, Rancid)
Drugs (all kinds of psychedelics, weed, alcohol, kratom)
I've lurked Bluelight for a while, using it as a resource to aid me in my psychedelic adventures, but recently made an account to ask a few questions, and decided to become a more active member of the community. I began my adventures in drug use when I was 13, and I was cast in my first ever professional production. The other actors would party regularly after the shows, and they introduced me to alcohol and weed. I still drink, but not very heavily, and I smoke pretty regularly. Then, during my senior year, I took 800mg of DXM with my friend and had my first ever psychedelic experience. It was incredibly overwhelming and inspiring, and I knew instantly that this was a very powerful tool for exploration of the psyche and for mental healing. That summer, I also tried shrooms and acid, and continue to use psychedelics today. I also am passionate about psychedelic advocacy: I believe that every American should have the right to explore their own consciousness through the use of psychedelic drugs, and I believe that if psychedelics were decriminalized, descheduled, and opened up to use in medical and research fields, they could provide immense opportunities for society. I also wish to fight against misinformation regarding psychedelic drugs, which permeates American society so deeply that even those who are not in any way opposed to psychedelic use continue to believe the ridiculous rumors and lies that have been spread by the Nixon/Reagan War on Drugs propaganda.
As you might have noticed, I am very passionate regarding politics and advocacy, and would love to be pointed in the right direction if there is a forum dedicated to those subjects.
I'm very excited to become a member of this community!
