mark lanegan died a couple of days ago. this is a real sad one for me - he was one of my favorite male singers.

he's probably best known for his work fronting screaming trees. he also performed with queens of the stone age.

his more recent work with isobel campbell (belle and sebastian) was frequently sublime.

i saw screaming trees open for oasis in boston in maybe 1996. it was everything i hoped it would be 🙂

What a beauty. 🐦♥️
There's so many solo's where he shined, independently. Perhaps, it would have been better for him, to do this, for his well being.
This one, with quotsa, his voice, magic.

Been reading his autobiography, since hearing this news. Totally brilliant, he is fierce and truthful writer in the truth/pen game.

Must admit i hadn't thought about Screaming Trees or Lanegan in years. He has this whole body of work for last few decades sounds very diverse.

But aah he lived within me regardless, cos i lived off that Mad Season album for so long now. I'd forgotten he contributed to the immortal Long Gone Day.

But i was there in the mosh for Trees at the big day out show in 1995 which is described in the book. I can't remember that altercation with the doofus who threw the thing. I need to ask some friends cos maybe they remember.
