Marinol medically lacking?

Medically i find marinol lacking when compared to cannabis sativa. This is probably due to thc being only one part of the medication of cannabis but i wanted to know your experiences.
Was the marinol as helpful as cannabis?
Did it ease your pain enough to get by?
Why were you prescribed Marinol?

I've not used marinol, but I have heard that it's lacking in medical benefits. Some patients even go so far as to squeeze their marinol pills onto a non-psychoactive herb and smoke it.

As far as I'm concerned it seems pointless to make marinol when cannabis grows so easily, and can easily be made into oil tinctures, etc. or vaporized.

Like safety, I personally have not used Marinol. But in general not only can it be medically lacking for many people, its medically unnecessary in most cases as well..

It was made to make money and to be more accepted by the general population, even though in reality the vast majority of people in the US are actually FOR MMJ. Seems crazy huh?

there is probably not that many people out there using marinol for there illnesses. Why would you use a drug that is way over priced instead of something that works better and costs penny's to produce. I doubt that many people on bluelight would use marinol. (I would think they would be smarter or more informed than to fall for that bs)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjhT9282-Tw watch this NORML associated Running from the cure. Marinol is just so pharmaceuticals can make $ and i know the effects are no where near as good as cannabis but its more complicated then id care to explain so please just answer the few ?s if you can instead spitting negativity.

^^^ Who's spitting negativity? I certainly don't feel any in the above posts.

I can see why cannabinoid pills are needed. There are many cancer-stricken people that find smoking and the association with a MJ culture distasteful. The poster enoughorangejuice? has some threads up about Marinol and how his docs wife is a senior and was able to regain a lot of weight with the help of Marinol. Old women are exactly the kind of people I'm talking about here.

Yeah, for the price of Marinol, you could just buy a vape. But, there's also the issue of giving people standard doses so you (the hypothetical doc) can better relate the medicine to side effects. Adults should be able to and usually do titrate doses better with smoking/vaping, but giving someone a license and letting them choose between very different strains and amounts runs counter to most medical practice.

Sativex sounds like a much better alternative. Faster working, extracted from standardized plants, THC and CBD, sublingual/buccal spray for faster relief and easier dose titration than capsules. It's too bad I don't think the US even uses it.
