yup, alcohol definitely makes music better or perhaps it simply makes listening to music more fun. weed on the other hand actually enhances your perception of music and makes each song sound longer and more intricate. with weed, a song can give you a huge whoosh of euphoria. this is what i was getting at in my original post and one of the reasons i like weed better.

i think the whole thread comes down the seperation between use and abuse between both substances.

that being said. it is MUCH harder to quit drinking after daily abuse for a number of years than it is to quit smoking the same amount for the same period of time. i promise you if you ask an alcoholic of 20 years and a pot head of 20 years how the withdrawl went they would agree.

yes you are totally right - the weed hangover definitely exists. i'm a little bit more introspective the next morning, depending on how much and how late i'd been smoking the night before. a bit like a space cadet.
alcohol just makes me physically drained if the hangover is pretty dire.
having said all that, the alcohol hangover wears off after a few hours and a good meal but the weed hangover makes me slow and a bit 'retarded' for a good half of the day. but usually a cup of expresso fixes it no problemo. =D
 
They're way too differnt drugs.

That's like comparing alcohol to LSD.

They aren't comparable, however it's obvious which chemical is better for your brain.

LSD and THC
 
Each has their own value.

Alcohol -
+ I love sitting in the pub and having a few drinks with friends and just having a nice social chat.
- Someone always ends up too drunk, vomiting, you need to take care of them, they make an arse of themselves and feel like a dick in the mourning.

Weed
+ Sitting in a living room, playing N64 and smoking a few joints is fucking heaven
- It's illegal and therefor, harder to do.

So overall, bring on the cannabis bars!

Cannabis > Alcohol.
 
ahhhh who bumped this damn thread lol.. fuck it, both are bad to abuse, but alcohol makes it easier to go out and party and eventually get laid so i'd take the booze and sex over the mary jane and introspection for hours on end

Sorry man, but you evidently missed some basic bioloigy and chemistry classes in high school. Ethyl alcohol is a very natural substance, like THC. So one being more natural than the other is a void arguement.

Drinking affects me in the same sense as weed in the hunger and musical appreciation sense. I get drunchies and fiend music. I also experience more euphoria from booze, especially beer. Plus, there's nothing like savoring the flavours of a quality brew.

Maybe you should'nt ask this on a forum where pretty much every member is a pothead. DC would work alot better.

And IMO, its like comparing apples to oranges. They both taste pretty good, but oranges taste better ;)

umm i dont consider my stoned thoughts outlandish no matter what you say. You would probably consider all of my thoughts outlandish though as most who prefer alcohol to weed arnt all that creative. Plus
id rather snatch a chick stoned than drunk any day, everything drunk feels sleazy and dirty where flirting while stoned is just to much fun. I can tell you ive written many a paper stoned and usualy get A's. With that said i dont smoke everyday, i smoke around everyother day. Because its more cost effective and lower tolerance, keeps it magical. I only drink when the social situation baisicaly requires it, and im starting to get past those days... thank god.
 
I like both.

But like my uncle always said:

"With booze you lose, with dope theirs hope!"

P.S.

I agree about smoking some herb before you drink, really helps you moderate and be more chill.
 
ive always bn more of a 'marijuana' person than an 'alcohol' person, although god knows i love a good drink
alcohols got a hangover, marijuana doesnt
marijuana is smoked and i like smoking.....
also i get too emotional wen im pissed, but wen im stoned i just get mellow....and i like the trippiness of weed
 
Overall I like weed better, but in certain situations I prefer alcohol. If I'm at a party and I'm just not in the mood, alcohol can help me lighten up a bit and have fun, whereas pot will make me more introverted and I'll sit there thinking how much I want to leave. I just don't enjoy getting wasted to the point of gettin sick.
