Marijuana - Inexperienced - Horrifying Trip on WEED - Was this normal???

The trip report describes several aspects of time distortion such that while the time line proceeds, moments persist and the person trips out on The past moment and its succession while the current moment continues in real time.
This generates a Deja Vu experience, and is also related to cognitive chaos, reverberation of thoughts and confused feelings, out of synch with cues from the person's senses, but in synch with evidence from merged time-lines.

I would call this a normal psychedelic effect, and a strong cannabis experience will be a psychedelic one.

I am so glad someone has experienced this, as I thought I was alone. What you have described is exactly what I feel whenever I am going through periods of smoking weed. Even 2-4 months after I smoke I get the same trips even when i'm not high.
However these feelings of intense Deja Vu or re-experiencing a memory/dream have significantly decreased since I quit (Maybe 6 months ago).
I know exactly what you are going through.

I've had experiencees like this when I first started smoking but they had a long term lasting effect on me... To this day I can't smoke weed without getting very anxious, self conscious and paranoid. If I have a benzo to calm me down I'd the high goes bad it's alright but without them can't do it

Weed is a psychedelic and if u are an anxious person it can mess with your psyche and cause panic..I've found that eating something before and having water after smoking helps

be cautious with weed it is harmless but can easily cause a habit with negative counsequences over time

Haha, the more you smoke the more the paranoia and anxiety happens, not the opposite. If you are a person who gets anxiety from weed, smoking more is certainly not the answer.

I have to disagree with that as weed changed for me and my friend as we continued to smoke it overy time. I've only had bad anxiety from weed once and I was able to keep it all on my head and overcome it without the people around me even knowing but that is unrelated. My friend on the otherhand would totally freak out when getting high with me when he didn't smoke often. I kept on telling him that he can over come it and weed is a amazing thing once you get past the "introduction stage". As he had more and more access to it (able to build his tolerance smoking alone till he felt comfortable) he confirmed that weed was changing for him and the state of paranoia was subsiding. He still can get to high and be uncomfortable or in the right situation like having to order at a restaurant can bother him. But he's able to smoke a bowl or two with me and enjoy a dinner out now.

As for me I smoke heavily I've stated on these forums before my goal is to stay high 24/7. I still to this day can stone myself to the point of being uncomfortable or if around my father who isn't the biggest pot fan out there;( I noticed after a month break when I smoked there was anxiety that wasn't their before when my tolerance was through the roof. Edibles can push me over very fast last time I ate one I was in class and I had to get up and leave. Also know that I'll smoke a 1/4oz and go to class just fine. (Extremely sensitive to edibles)
My advice is to not drop weed yet. Give it a chance and take it very slow don't be scared to only have a few tokes or one toke. Mabye trying it alone is the key until you figure out what it's all about. Also know that what I said above is only what I've came to understand through experience and is not necessarily fact, drugs effect no two people the same. Also I can agree weed isn't for all, their is no problem with not liking it.

Oh and a note on the forever feeling. I use to get that as well their is a road in front of my house that leads to school about 1/4 mile long. When I first started smoking I'd ride to the dorms to hang with someone who doesnt smoke and my gosh that 1/4 mile that took 30 secs to go down literally would look as if it was growing to the power of 2. Don't smoke and drive;) and know that smoking weed is probably my best choice in life so far as it has change me 180 degree for the better

This is EXACTLY the feeling I got after smoking weed once. Deja Vu over and over again, it fucking freaked me out and the feeling haunted me for years (this happened in 2002!)

Never smoked that shit ever again. Thanks for sharing and hope you're ok
