Managing the itch from heroin

I love heroin but the itchiness that comes along with it can get irritating. Anyone know of anything that can help with that?

not experience with heroin, but codeine and hydrocodone both make me itch pretty bad, and benadryl fixes it real quick

If you live an area where promethazine, hydroxyzine, etc are OTC, then you are in luck. Otherwise diphenhydramine is probably your best bet unless you can get a prescription to one of the aforementioned drugs.

I like cetirizine for the histamine reactions from H. It helps with the itching and whatnot, but doesn't have the sedating properties of other antihistamines, which I don't care for

I've never found a real solution to it other than to not use opiates

That doesn't sound like a fun solution at all.

You itch all day? Not just right after you do it? I know the itch that can be painful at times right after doing it...but I don't itch all day.

I don't think I ever said I itch all day.

Morphine and codeine make me itch, heroin not so much. Hydroxizine works well. If you can't get that try benadryl.

Seconded on the cetirizine point; it works very well for me personally when I find myself itching all day/night and doesn't have any sedating properties. However, doxylamine succinate (which is a powerful hypnotic) works the best for me and seems to add to the nod (when taken at recommended dosages; I wouldn't take too much).

Yeah, doxylamine is weird stuff, it seems to be a less "innocent" drug than it was presented as!
