I think Jan wants to use it to generate feelings of closeness to others (i.e as an empathogen).
There is evidence that mdma can stimulate oxytocin release and it seems quite likely that the oxytocin system is reponsible for the empathogenic effects of many/most empathogens.
I'd be willing to bet that oxytocin agonists could prove to be very recreational indeed, especially when used in combination with other drugs, who knows what sort of empathogenic effects are possible when you're going straight for the oxytocin system itself?
That said these molecules don't seem to be studied that much. I would definitely not encourage anyone to make themselves a lab rat. I mean, even if you managed to get hold of some Way-267,464, how the hell are you supposed to know what sort of dose is safe in humans? There mighn't even be a safe recreational dose. Negative side-effects could kick in long before you come close to any appreciable feelings. Fuck, i'd be scared it would kill me or something.
tl,dr: I seriously reccomend you don't experiment with WAY-267,464. or any other completely experimental drug tbh.
Funnily enough i was just reading this article earlier on today:
http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/69359/title/Love_hormone_has_a_dark_side
Oxytocin, a hormone with a rosy reputation for getting people to love, trust and generally make nice with one another, can get down and dirty, according to evidence presented on January 28 at the annual meeting of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.
This brain-altering substance apparently amplifies whatever social proclivities a person already possesses, whether positive or negative, says psychologist Jennifer Bartz of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
It would seem oxytocin does not cause feelings of "love", and instead imo might just help make you more socially focused/attuned.
It could be that oxytocin is a vital compenent in what causes "loving" feelings, but that it is not, in itself, the full story. Perhaps only when coupled with a state of high reward will an oxytocin release create feelings of "love"....or i could be completely wrong
