My SO was on Opana 40mg a day til 6 days ago, he does have any withdrawal symptoms anymore. He is having continuing confusion that won't go away. Some symptoms he is feeling are:
long pauses during speech

  • lack of awareness of location or time
  • forgetting what a task is while it is being performed
  • sudden changes in emotion, such as sudden agitation

He doesn't understand numbers, time, what things are. He was having anxiety because of it, but now is calm since he is getting used to it.

Has anyone experienced this? How long did it take to go away? Did you take any medications to help?

Thanks!

When I got off opiates I was an emotional wreck. I would go from one extreme to another. Get angry or annoyed for no reason at all. Things would bother me that I normally wouldn't bat an eye at. It took me almost 2 months till my mind started to level out and be back at a normal state. I know everyone's different and what I went through they might not go through. But it will take time and things should revert back to a normal state. If not see a doctor.

Has he been checked out by a doctor? Sometimes it is easy to blame things on abuse of a drug when there may be something else going on.Just to make sure that isn't the case I would recommend seeing a doctor and maybe getting a referral for a neurologist.
