So i found out that taking magnesium supplements will assist the body in evenly absorbing calcium, and as such may regulate the concentration of calcium ions in the brain.

It has been considered that this causes magnesium to have a positive affect on tolerance to MDMA.

My question is: Will someone who consumes alot of calcium (ie drinks alot of milk etc) form more of a tolerance to mdma? Do these people need magnesium supplements more than people with a lower calcium intake?

Any input appreciated![/FONT]

This may do better in Advanced Drug Discussion but we will see how it goes here first before moving it over if need be.

Many calcium supplements are coupled with magnesium already, and the kind I have has zinc, too. I find they help curb muscle tension after rolling or working out.

Peace.

Calcium Citrate + D is the best across the board. Calcium Carbonate is same as Tums, and can contribute to kidney stones (I have 2 in one kidney now).

I had the same concerns too as I like to drink a lot of milk, and I take magnesium to help reduce my gain of tolerance to amphetamine.
I wouldn't mind having this question answered as well.

I don't know about your initial question - but amphetamine metabolism tends to deplete the magnesium levels in the body - meaning that if you take Mg supplements you can reduce the severity and frequency of effects like jaw-clenching, muscle soreness, etc.

I've skimmed a few study abstracts before that gave me a vague impression that magnesium might help reduce or combat opioid tolerance, while calcium increases it. But I don't know anything.
In general, I read magnesium is a really good supplement to take, and that if you're taking calcium especially it's important to get at least the same amount of magnesium if not twice as much magnesium as calcium.

It has alot to do with what they're doing inside you. Besides being the core of your skeletal matrix, Ca channels are used to regulate both neurons and muscles of all classes. Mg aids in the absorption of minerals in foods, in ATP synthesis, and cellular renewal (specifically nucleotide synthesis). Lack of either can lead to exaggerated side-effects while on amphetamine class drugs.
