Macro Photography

Research the Raynox DCR-150 and 250. They can be found for around £40 and are unbelievable value for money.

40£ is almost for fee for a macro lens - if they fit the Nikon D90 Ill have one on order as soon as Im sober enough to find my c/card.

Thank you :)

Thanks! I wish I still had that camera. It became a victim of my addiction and was pawned years ago =/ I can't afford one like that right now but hopefully I can find a cheaper substitute and get back into photography soon. It seems like there are some really amazing cameras that are affordable appearing all over the place these days. All of those photos were taken from 2002 to 2005 when I was about 14 to 17.

8ft-Sativa, congrats on your new toys. Which Nikon DSLR have you gone for?

You mention that your pics seem a little blurry. Are you using manual or automatic focus on your Raynox pics? I find manual gives the best results, just rock the camera slightly back and forth to focus on the point you want. Also, use a high f number and plenty of flash.

I went for a Nikon D3000 ... it's an Nikons entry level DSLR. I'm pretty happy with it .. I think sometimes people get caught up in expensive equipment rather than focusing on taking creative pics so for me although it's not amazing it's more than sufficient.

Coupled with the Raynox that is ... the 250 is kick ass to put it lightly thanks for recommending it! I got the 150 too but it's not that exciting.

I'm glad you came back to this thread!

So, so picks .... Next week I got a few days off so i'll have some better shit next weekend. =D

I'll try manual focusing rather than auto. You would think the auto would be more precise but I have never tried manual so I can;t say.

I love the first flower, and the color on that orange one is incredible!

Nice purchase and pictures. I currently use a D40 but I'm planning on upgrading soon to the D7000.

I've bought both too. The 150 can be handy for a bigger DOF.

About the manual focus, literally leave the focus ring alone and gently move the camara back and forth until you see the desired focus point through the viewfinder and then quickly take the shot. I found the D40 autofocus to be slightly fussy with the Raynox and manual fixed that.

It's not lens as such but a dioptre. It fits onto the front of an existing lenses and basically turns zoom lenses into macro lenses. Once you master it, it has surprisingly good results for the price. For example.
