anyone have experience with this med? i was on it for over a year and it was amazing but then stopped working. im considering resuming it as i am in hell with my symptoms right now.

is it still not approved for psych stuff in the US? i know it is approved for anxiety in the UK. any comments would be appreciated. thanks.

It works for some peoples anxiety but not alot from what I've seen and experienced myself. It didn't help mine any. I find that lyrica like gabapentin can stop working after awile so you either have to up the dose or stop taking it for awile and start again. Just taper off slow because the withdrawals can be brutal. I would personally not recommend getting into any really high doses that's for sure.

Have you tried gabapentin? It does the same thing pretty much except it's weaker but it does work better for some people.

what dose were u prescribed?

what dose did you honestly take?

is lyrica the same as gabapentin, cause if so you need to take massive doese to get any effect, and tolerance builds very quickly

Tolerance to Lyrica reverses with only several days of abstinence. It is the best anxyolitic I have ever taken.

This is the only anti-anxiety drug I haven't tried. My insurance won't pay for it though. Gabapentin didn't do shit, even at MASSIVE doses. So I treat my crippling horror with narcotics instead. The world makes sense.

Not true at all. I have family who is a Doc and I asked her how effective her patients were finding it. She said the vast majority found it very beneficial. Don't forget the lines between anxiety and depression are blurred, so perhaps you need an antidepressant ? And Gabbapentin is considerably weaker than Lyrica. Not my view, but a experienced Doctors.

Pregabalin and gabapentin probably have the fastest rising tolerance out of any pharmaceutical drug in the market.

Even though it's not approved doctors can still prescribe it off label. I've been on it on and off since 2008. I've also experienced some devastating symptoms of dependance and withdrawal.

It's excellent for social anxiety and even depression, but the benefits disappear rather quickly. It can't however be used to treat panic disorder, and halt panic attacks. Perhaps it can be used as preventive measure. Even for GAD, where this indication is approved in Europe, it begins to fall short considerately fast. I've approached the ceiling dose and all it does is pretty much bring me to baseline.

In a nutshell, the rapidly rising tolerance of this drug is a massive shortfall, to the level where the risks of this drug begin to outweigh the benefits.

i am from the uk and am on lyrica for anxiety and the anti convolsent (sp) properties but i really dont get on with it and i am only on 75mg a day -it gives me a fuzzy chemical solvent head. not planning on taking it much longer as only just got off a 12 year vallium script so its the last thing i want. how long does this shit take to form wd`s?

^^ the chemical solvent head feeling wld be the ghb type effects it produces. sometimes i cant even tell the difference between a nice dose of ghb or my lyrica. only reason i know is because i know what iv taken
