Alright people im not sure if this is where i should post but i will start it here and go ahead and move it if needed mods.

Recently when i started taking melatonin and drinking chamomile tea at night i have has very vivid dreams and remember them more. I really enjoy this feeling and i have once actually fell asleep right into a dream and i fully knew it was happening and could kind of control it.

It was so real actually that when i journeyed to my old house where i grew up in right when i was going to enter i thought i was breaking into someones house so i woke up. I screamed FUCK! God i was sooo pisssedddd

Ha anyways this was so exciting and i need to learn how to become a lucid dreamer!

To sum it all up i am looking for anything that can help herbs/food/drinks. Techniques to use while falling asleep possibly? Maybe focusing on a certain thing? and it seems when i sleep on my back i am more able to have vivid dreams and remember them better is there a reason for this?

Any advice please!

I post on this topic on several other dream forums as I have pretty much perfected and control my dreams fairly daily. It also depends on my diet too, chocolate makes me have nightmares, and I loose the control, booze too.

My all time best and most vivid, full blown Hi def , color dreams were while sleeping after an LSD trip. Mushrooms not as much. LSD really helped me prefect and fine tune my lucid dreams. I could literally control all aspects and actions, but the final outcomes were sketchy.

I also developed food allergies after turning 26 or so so stuff like chamo tea, eucalyptus, and a bunch of other foods negatively affect me so I will say in confidence they WILL also have a direct effect on your sleep + dreams big time.

Today I only take 280mg Oxy per day, 0.5mg Clonzaepam (not everyday) + Rum on the weekends in small amounts and my dreams are not as lucid as they once were. I personally find that having a clean system - healthy body + mind with the help of some LSD (optional) will maximize your lucid dream potential.

I also used to smoke hashish daily and was on no pain meds or benzos, really fit and all around extremely healthy and it helped too. some of my best sleep was facilitated with Hashish. Clean. The chemicals are clearly documented for causing nightmares - I mean impurities*

See: http://www.lucidity.com/LucidDreamingFAQ2.html#drugs -3.6# ... you would be blown away by some of my dreams, they make Avatar look boring.

Theres this really cheap plant called 'dream herb' or 'herb of god' something along those lines it has multiple names and I think the actual plant name starts with zach- I can really remember but i know that's what it starts with but yeah it helps with 'dream tripping' and making lucid dreams more likely to happen. It has info on it on erowid.

I just looked it up and it's actually called Calea zacatechichi. Hope this helps you with your journey to lucid dreams.

Not that I condone any of this
1. Diphenhydramine - Heavy sleep. You may have heard it makes you skip REM/Dreaming but if you sleep long enough you will encounter the rebound or heavy, lucid, vivid dreaming.

2. Kava Kava - gave me heavy sleep followed by vivid dreaming

many drugs have given my dreams rarely lucid dream LSA and Dxm have given me a few dreams and when I go to sleep with music playing I will have dreams about the song thats playing I listen to death metal I will sleep with it playing and have a dream about death murder zombies or vampires shit like that

you should
test if your in your dreams all day so it becomes a habit so u can tell when your dreaming and u can do this by:

1.draw on your hands every day and check it often
if you look down and the drawing is gone , then your in a dream

2. pick up a book read the cover, put it down, look at the book again.
if it says the same as before then your in reality but,
if the book says something different, then your dreaming.

3. always check if your in reality by trying to control things with your mind,
so it becomes a habit,so when ur dreaming youll likely check and be able to contol it.

Another good one is to wear a watch and check the time, then check the time again right after and see if the times are the same.

Theres also a guide somewhere on the internet that says how to make a lucid dream mask, its like a sleep mask that has led lights attached that turn on at a set time (like around 3AM or whenever your most likely to REM) and shine/flash through your eye lids and you see them in your dream and its subtle enough to not wake you up but it lets you know your dreaming. Heh that kinda makes me think of 'Inception'..

Wake yourself up (with an alarm) a few hours before you'd normall get up. Wake up, sit up, maybe get out of bed then go back to sleep.. all the time you're doing this (even when you are going back to sleep keep repeating these lines: "I am dreaming. This is a dream. I am dreaming. This is a dream" Win.

Also, nicotine patches give you crazy vidi dreams.. this might help with lucid dreaming (havn't tried it myself)..

Repeating "this is a dream, I am dreaming" would have no effect on me whatsoever and would just keep me awake. Just one more thing that has to be swirling around in my head. And to hell with waking myself up early, I need all the sleep I can get, I have insomnia.
