LSD Skin Solubility - Dermal Absorption

A friend of a friend unknowingly stuck his hand in a mason jar of crystal LSD, and after his trip and fried out, went to work on a farm. I'm wondering about how many mg he must have got through contact in order for him to fry out like that. I'm told the interaction was very quick, like he did it then they screamed "Noooo... what are youdoin!" so I'm guessing he didn't just leave it there. 40mg is a ton to ingest of LSD, and I was told it was around there. Again it's just what I've been told, so I'm curious to how accurate these accounts are, and how quickly/much, given the surface area of an average hand, LSD can be consumed by the body.

see i read a thread i think in ADD saying that LSD isnt absorbed into skin well. i think it was nichols who had a student or something literally paint on a combination of LSD and DMSO and felt no effects whatsoever. im wondering if it gets into your system through the air.

EDIT: i feel like i need to say that it is INCREDIBLY unlikely that any one of us even knows anyone whos known anyone whos ever even seen lsd crystal let alone a mason jar full of it let alone stuck their hand in the damn thing. there is a small fraction of a percent of the population that has...

I myself don't really believe anyone's stories (other then close friends) who haven't proved it, especially here with how far out it is. I'm 99.9% sure that lsd does in fact absorb through the skin though, just cant search atm to prove it

Even if LSD has a bioavailability of 1% via the skin route, that means that (assuming 40mg contacting the skin) approximately 40000 * 0.01 = 400 micrograms, which is quite the hefty dose.

What is also likely is that he accidentally touched his face (eyes, lips) or something like that before completely washing his hands.

i spent a couple minutes searching for the thread i mentioned to no avail. it was about dermal absorption of any drug not lsd but it was brought up. if you want some serious info you can try finding it yourself. im going to look up the study that was referred too.
