LSD - Reprogramming the brain?

I've been thinking about this idea, because after a rather difficult experience last summer, I've encountered a recurrence of the general trip every experiment since. It's not necessarily bad, but I haven't had any fun on a psychedelic in a while! I mean, I generally use not abuse, but before there were always great times to be had regardless of intention (Nature of drugs? Lol.).
I don't know, any other tips? The setting and set have been varied, but the recurring ideas usually employ that damn breakdown of language and symbolism, which sorta renders any details inside or out just insignificant really.

i agree with this guys statements he hhit it head on!

You're probably looking for the wrong visuals. Don't expect seeing animals in the walls or pink fairies. The visuals from LSD are often tracers and (real) objects that move or seem to melt, enhanced colours and you're more likely to see some details on everything. It's hard to explain, but believe me, to most trippers the visuals are a side-product of the trip, and not the point of it. As you can read on many threads, such as:

Also plenty of threads about tripping alone, this is the biggest:

I wouldn't use your expression "Reprogram the brain", it makes tripping seem synthetic and false. To me, almost every trip had a life changing effect, in a mostly good way. But the more I trip, the more it seems part of my natural self, and the more I change, the more I feel I'm becoming the one I always was (or should have been) since I was a child.

Don't forget about john c lillys stuff..he wrote a few great books on programming the human biocomputer..ketamine and mxe are also great tools to use for these purposes.

Thanks everybody for your response!

How do you go about it during the trip? Would you please share some insight?

I prepare for the trip, and I dont take LSD casually like I used to.I follow Tim Learys set and setting model, and also try to have a goal for each trip. Purpose has been a great way of gaining insights . During the trip I try to turn off the mind and let acid do its job . Mindfullness or vipassana meditation has helped me with this, for the first hours of the expirience are very tumultous for me (about first 3-4 hours into the trip) . Im open to any feeling and dont reject , not even fear , I just feel them all and if anxiety is triggered I look for the root of it by focusing , usually is lack of acceptance . I do enjoy higher doses of lsd , because resistance of the ego happens a lot with a small ones . With 4 hits or even 3 the transition into the psychedelic realm happens faster (wich is what you want). With a low dose the ego fights and doesnt dissolve (transcend). Sometimes one has to go to hell before going to heaven , and Ive learned not to grasp for heaven nor wanting to stay in that blissful state . I just let it flow wherever it takes me. what I look for now on acid is conciousness and seeing things with a different perspective, thus gaining tremendous insights one can uncondition certain patterns.
Also when coming down ("re-entry") I remember those thoughts Ive had , or write them down and apply some on my day to day basis . One example could be my eating habits (im a healthy person now) , or my weed comsumption, wich has been reduced ( Im a casual smoker now , not an every day one), is not that its a bad thing but for me I know whats best or not. I always had insights during my trips the only difference is I apply them now and not when I started doing acid. The self destructive behaviour that was present during my teens up until recently has changed, and I thank acid for given me those magic hours that shed a new light on my reality. I hope I answered your question , but in short : I find a purpose , and I float downstream.

Quality of the acid is very important as it is tolerance (I always wait at least 72 hours before dosing again) . Some people take 4 hits and dont have visuals, I take 2 hits and colors swirls , things morph and breath , and sometimes synesthesia occurs. The only thing that I can think of is either tolerance or quality (very important factors that determine ones experience).

Probably more to do with your sensitivity to LSD - some people can drink 15 pints of beer and be stone cold sober, some can drink half a pint of shandy and be dancing naked on the table.

LSD is either LSD or it isn't LSD - it's not like heroin where someone can mix in a handful of glucose powder. You can't talk about it's "quality" - either the molecular structure corresponds to LSD in which case you trip, or it doesn't, in which case you don't trip.

Other aspect is how it has been handled . As you know , LSd is a fragile molecule if exposed to light heat or oxygen. One day , long ago I bought some weak stuff and after asking around , someone told me te guy who sold it , had spilled water onto it accidentaly. So yes , some lsd is weak (microgram wise) cause of mishandling . Also ive read a lot of people praising sandoz lsd as being very pure stuff back in the day. So I do believe quality of the acid is important, just look for it . Impurities can affect the trip , never heard of a bad batch? or a clean trip ? for me impurities are present in the form of body load, you still trip though.
