iv been doing lsd once a weekend now just 1-2 hits each time, and the effects have been the same, my tolerance hasnt gone up or anything but i was just wondering if this is too much, would it cause any mental problems or will i be fine?

Nobody can answer that question for you but yourself. Pharmacologically speaking, yes it is fine, but many people would say that is too often for other reasons.

If you feel OK, go for it... Ultimately YOU know your body and mind better than anyone else, so you're going to have to answer your own question. Err on the side of caution I suppose.

there is some tolerance buildup involved with doing it that often, and you will probably start wanting to trip less often (eventually) on your own accord, it's just better (tag for subjectivity).

Agreed, I would however be one of those people that says its too much. LSD should be used for therapeutic and enlightening purposes and you cant possibly be experiencing significant paradigm shifts on a weekly basis so I don't really see how it could be psychological positive experience when used that often. Id say the MOST frequently would be every 3 months or so at least... Just my opinion hope that helps

i think it is not so bad - i used to take doses every friday back in high school - but, by the time i was graduated and working i stopped and let life go back to normal.. you cannot really develop a mental issue easily - possibly if you went on for 10 years doing that you would feel quite mixed up - but, my bet is that you head back to reality and slow down when the time seems right for you..

It would seem, from my observation of a number of overly-enthusiastic trippers, that taking any psychedelic with this frequency eventually causes one to become numb to, and lose interest, in the experience. You might be able to keep it up for as long as a couple years -- but IMO you'd be risking turning something quite beautiful into something quite mundane.

Ultimately, you really have to look within yourself to find the answer to that question.

I've done this in the past, when i was at the peak of my use with LSD.. what i can say from experience is it eventually caused derealization with myself and i found it hard to function/find meaning/integrate myself into a 'typical day', i just became very detached from reality.

It's nothing time and abstinence from the drug wouldn't heal, but in my case i needed to push my limits to know where the boundaries were, it was definitely a powerful learning experience on my behalf.

I used to trip like 2-3 times a week never taking less then 4 hits anf doing about a 10 strip about once a week for 6 months. Eventually you just kinda start to mellow out. For me I just moved outta santa cruz and didn't have such a ready supply of it. Now I try to trip about once a month if I can get my hands on it.

Last year I was tripping couple of times a week, as people said you slow down after a while anyway.

If you want to keep things a bit more interesting try switching the chem you're tripping on. I doubt I ever did them same chem in the same month when I was tripping heavily.

Psychedelic use always runs the risk of mental "problems" being encountered, but the same is true if you take them every day or just once in your life. One could even argue that, since you become more accustomed to them with frequent use and the intensity of peak experiences tends to be diminished, each individual trip for a heavy user is "safer" in that sense than each trip for an occasional user.

At any rate - physiologically speaking you could use a lot more than 1-2 hits a week and still have no problems. You would need to get well into the double digits of "hits" at least, or more likely mess with a more concentrated form like liquid solution or pure LSD crystal/powder to approach potentially physically dangerous doses. AFAIK, there's only one human death attributed to LSD overdose involving someone injecting tens of thousands of "hits" worth of liquid solution, presumably mistaking it for some other drug, and I think even that case is somewhat controversial re: whether LSD actually caused the death or not.

Anyway, in your case, tolerance and personality changes are the things to look out for. Some people seem prone to negative personality changes with excessive use, others just become distracted from managing their 'real' lives and run into problems in their work, school or personal lives. Most people who can 'handle' tripping reasonably well (e.g., not prone to 'freakouts,' able to turn even difficult trips into bearable and hopefully ultimately productive experiences rather than just a few hours in hell, etc.) and would want to trip regularly in the first place, IMHO, can probably 'handle' one trip a week as long as they choose to, or at least notice any developing problems and decide to slow down for a while well before it becomes a serious problem.

That said, there's an old saying among psychedelic users: when in doubt, wait it out. In other words: when asking yourself if you want to trip, if you don't reach a definite "yes" fairly quickly, take it as a no and wait for another time.

This is excellent advice. I wish I had known this when I was younger. I used to just power through any doubt with stubbornness.

When I would be on the fence about tripping and have definite apprehensions I would just go for it because I just wanted to do it. This led to some very difficult experiences, but I guess it wasn't all bad, I learned a lot.

I think younger users are more prone to just powering through that doubt and apprehension. I find nowadays I only trip if all systems are go.

I've wanted to trip more often but by the time I go to do it I always say no. I've found that tripping once every 2-3 months has worked best for me and I tend to put a lot of weight on the meaning of the experience. As with anything, over do it and you lose the magic.

^ Yeah. The above quotation is the mantra of any responsible tripper.
Though going out on a limb and taking a psychological risk can be very rewarding, as with any kind of risk... but not something to be taken lightly by any means.
You can try and think about it in terms of "possibility" rather than "uncertainty" to establish a more desirable mindset. Even though they're practically the same thing, one has more of an intriguing twist to it while the other is more borne of fear and doubtfulness.

^ Also true. Taking the leap has given me some very rewarding experiences. Looking back if I hadn't been stubborn and pushed through the doubt I wouldn't have had them and might not have gotten into psychedelics.

We certainly have to agree that we all start with some apprehension and doubt. If we don't take the leap of faith and just go for it we don't get to have the experience.

I guess it's a balancing act. There are times when you have to push through the apprehension and there are times to just wait for another time.

I don't listen to all of my doubts. Just the times when I know deep down the correct answer is "no, you shouldn't be taking them". Fortunately I'm capable of hearing that voice in my head for what it is, rather than just ignoring it and doing it anyway.

I did the exact same thing with specifically, LSD, for about 3-4 months. I'd trip every weekend, though sometimes I'd trip twice a week if I knew someone who wanted to trip with me. I didn't experience anything too negative, and I also took low doses. The only thing that happened to me is that sometimes on a regular basis (sober), my mind would be racing and I'd get too caught up with the notion that we truly know nothing. It was kind of amazing, but bad if I was trying to concentrate on other things. : p

If you've already done it at least a few times, unlikely to get skitzophrenia or bi-polar this late if it ain't in your family, but HPPD (Hallucinogen Perceptual Persisting Disorder) is an issue for some. Would say keep an eye on your vision when you're sobre, if you increasingly notice things in your peripherals that aren't there, see occasional visuals, etc. I'd say give it a rest. Can't really imagine sober tripping to be enjoyable...

Once a week is fine for cyclic use, but not sustained - in my opinion and experience.

This reminds me that it's been a while since i've tripped.... i was tripping weekly for a while, then just stopped for various reasons. I've still got that half gram of 2C-P that i need to spend some quality time with.... not to mention the stuff i've ordered since then.

If i take a 2C-X every weekend, i start to see patterns in dark blue/purple when in darkness. Usually a big roughly circular shape in the middle of my field of vision. It goes away in 2-3 weeks. To me it's a sign i've been tripping too often >.>
