No one psychedelic experience is ever the same as the next. That, for me, is part of the reason they are so fascinating. Sometimes insightful, overpowering and breathtakingly humbling in their beauty. Other times, things can just get a bit silly and downright weird! This, is one such time..
I leaned back in my chair as my peripheral vision was exploding with kaleidoscopic colours. Just outside the edges of my sight were bright flashes of the whole colour spectrum, seemingly coming in all at once, making it hard to focus. To the centre of my sight, geometric patterns were springing forth welcoming me into their world, swaying to and fro to the rhythm of shpongle in the background.
The peak had hit me hard, leaving me speechless and bordering on unable to move for the time being, blissfully silent. Soon enough my sight was drawn to the large fishtank in the corner of the room, with this...alien looking creature swimming within it. He was staring at me, probing me, almost gesturing for me to come closer...
I pondered this strange being, what his life must be like inside that giant tank, all alone.I felt empathy for him, and felt I could see his pain at being trapped in this prison all his life... I got down on the ground and crawled over to the tank, gazing eye to eye with this unknown creature of the depths.
Irridescent sparkles shot off his skin from every angle, reflecting with the fire of a thousand suns in every direction... He was truly a beautiful creature. A beautiful, alien creature, whos kind had been here long before us...
I leant my head closer to the tank, my vision now encompassed by this floating alien head staring back at me. My jaw dropped, as i saw the head turn into my own, staring back at myself, whilst staring into this alien being... We communicated as he (I?) told me of his suffering inside that tank...
I felt myself falling forwards as if to go further and further into his psyche... I caught myself, just as my head was falling against the tank.
I snapped back...
What..What had just happened I wondered ?
Some kind of communication had taken place, i knew that much.
Whenever i see that beautiful, alien fish these days he looks at me knowingly, as though he hasn't forgotten what happened that night...
Im still not sure if i freaked him out or he freaked me out perhaps we just freaked out together.. Either way i have a newfound respect for that strangely psychedelic fish..
