LSD and Vasoconstriction

Yesterday I had 3 dalai lamas supposily each to be 240ug to 280u, definitely strongest blotters had in my life. The thing that scared me was that after 1h eating the 3rd blotter, got a serious intensive vasoconstriction (only got this serious before with 3g mephedrone!!!). My arms, chest, and even eyes felt was going to pop out. 8(

I tried to smoke 2 joints in hope to have good vaso dilatio but very limited effectiveness, then popped 1mg of xanax to end the trip, there was still high vasoconstriction for about a hour after this, further 0.5mg and went to sleep.. :\

I read in LSD Psychotherapy by Groff MD that this effect is not unusual on very high doses, but im wondering if anyone happened the same? How can I prevent this?

So far researching in multiple forums come up with response. Anyone can comment on any of this for helping vasoconstriction?

niacin

ibuprofen

nicotinic acid

yohimbe to combat vasoconstriction with lsa containing seeds. I've also read of people successfully using raw cocao 25x-50x extracts to the same ends.

aspirine

1g Taurine an hour before dosing the HBWR (the mdma is dosed at T+3 after the HBWR) and then have another 500mg as needed to stop any muscle tightness. I'll also have some Mg at hand to stop gurning, this probably has an effect on muscle tightness too.

L-arginine works best if you load it the night before, and also the day of... take about a gram the night before, and then a half gram to a gram the day of.

Hot Showers

dark chocolate

that's practically a milligram.. do too much of anything (even water) and you'll probably experience something adverse.

Are you sure it was vasoconstriction that you experienced? Normally this makes your chest and extremities feel tight and achy; not like they are about to pop out. Also, severe cases of vasocontriction are usually accompanied by discoloration of the affected areas. Did you experience this?

Finally, does your comment on mephedrone mean you took 3g of it after having experienced 'serious intensive vasoconstriction'? If so, this was monumentally stupid.

Um, I think he means the only time he's gotten vasoconstriction this serious before was when he took 3g of mephedrone on a different occasion.

Even the amount of LSD you supposedly took would not cause any significant amount of vasoconstriction, not enough to worry about anyway. People have taken doses exponentially higher and come out just fine. If it was anything at all, it was probably just you tripping really fucking hard and psyching yourself out.

^ I agree with the above, LSD does not cause significant vasoconstriction. LSA on the other hand certainly will and if you've tried both you'll notice a big difference in vasoconstriction between the two. Maybe the blotters contained a DOx or something which would cause more vasoconstriction than LSD regularly would. If the blotters were strong it's a possibility you were just freaking yourself out. it happens.

Just a speculative thought but I don't think LSD could cause such vasoconstriction given that people have taken thumbprint doses without being so much as hospitalised, given that a thumbprint can be hundreds of times the normal dose, maybe more, if LSD had much in the way of vasoconstriction all those people who took such high doses would be dead for sure.

What I mean its that a long time a ago when had a binge of 3g mephedrone had a very similar effects. Got red and/or blue, extremities felt tight and achy, pressure in chest, more pressure in left arm than right (heart), felt the muscles in the eyes compressed and coronary vein was popping out. At that moment thought could be psychosomatic, and this was suggested in another forum, that simply my mind/ego was defending it self from anihilation. It seems to be the most probable, but didnt started to have first any erratic/negative thoughts with this physical symptoms, once the reason regard as purely physical (was actually enjoying my time a lot listening to relaxed brian eno instrumental music). I tried to distract myself but couldnt avoid anymore the bodyload, so decided to abort the trip.

The 5-HT2A receptors are directly responsible for muscle tension. In fact, most muscle relaxers work by antagonizing this receptor. As a psychedelic, LSD is an agonist. Its not speculative it can cause vasoconstriction its scientific research read in LSD Psychotherapy by Stanislav Grof M.D., plus done some search with this articles here, and here.

About the effects it hit me in 30mn and visual effects were the same as any good acid, no soapy taste btw. I believe 100% to be LSD.

I read the hypothesis that depending of the crystal, there is different levels of purities, perhaps at dosage the impurity of the crystal was already noticeable in my body? 2 tabs no vasoconstriciton at all, 3rd then it all changed? The mystery builds up and im scratching my head.. :\

Here is the purity concerning different crystals from a dutch board.

TYPES OF CRYSTAL
Needlepoint - Very pure(95% ) The best of the best
White Fluff - Very pure(95% ) Still around and the most sought after. very pure
Silver - Good and clean(85-90% ) Very good stuff.
Amber - Decent(70%?)
Lavender - (60-70%?)
TJ(tornado juice) - purity unknown.
Champagne - (50-60%?)

Well LSD does cause vasoconstriction for sure, that's a pretty widely excepted fact. But it doesn't cause the amount you said. In fact, I think you just answered your own question - two was fine but the third hit changed it? If it was definitely LSD, you were just tripping out man.

One of the links you posted is talking about the "umbilical structure" - presumably that's why pregnant women are advised not to take it but if you're a man there shouldn't be any problem.

I've never experienced any vasoconstriction on LSD and I've taken some pretty big doses.

i didn't notice any vsoconstriction on acid. I've got this nasty effect while on other psychedelics - tryptamines, phenylethylamines and LSA.

^ Although short I think this sums it up the best. I hope you did not misunderstand me to mean that vasoconstriction is not caused whatsoever by LSD, it definitely is, but if it was anywhere near the severity of 3 grams of Mephedrone with just 3 hits I'd shudder to think how damaged the bodies of those who've taken thumbprints would be. Severe vasoconstriction is very dangerous and can even kill, the problem with psychedelics is that they can often make perceived issues seem much worse, for example many a time I've thought my heartbeat was racing at 200bpm, and that my veins were about to explode from high blood pressure - but after someone checked both, they were found to be normal, slightly elevated at the worst of times.

Don't self diagnose while tripping! ;)

Jesusgreen, I think you definitely have a good point. I remember in the LSD Psychotherapy book that in dearth-rebirth process called Basic Perinatal Matrices its common anad can show physical symptoms very similar with dying in different matrices. I wouldnt mind having ego death but it felt so real and dangerous.. If you havent read the book strongly suggest it, to understand what happens while tripping in high doses (therapeutic).

I will get some niatic acid, dark chocolate, L-arginine , and probably Taurine. It wont hurt next time.

sometimes on lsd my weiner gets shriveled. i always attributed it to vasoconstriction. kind of like what happens when swimming in cold water. is it just me?

Grof has some very bizarre ideas tho. By all means read him but take his pseudo-freudian take on LSD with a big pinch of salt. And he's working with some very vulnerable subjects with the express purpose of "taking them into their problems" with his version of psychotherapy. It's a very limited view of tripping.

Amusingly, Grofs wife banned him from taking drugs so now he has to make do with his "holotropic breathing" or panting until you feel dizzy.

Sorry, thats bullshit. 1 - Grof developed holytropic breathwork with illegalisation of LSD. 2 - He devoted 40y to Psychedelic Therapy and just deserves great respect to his contribution to psychology from culmination of thousands of experiences. Its empirical theory.

Can you support your statements with links to articles? Have you even read his book? Have you tried Holotropic Breakthwork? I doubt it, all. Please, troll somewhere else, this forum has too much people easy influenced. Thanks.
