LSD and Body Image

Interesting question.

I felt more comfortable in my body after my 1st acid trip.

I jumped in the deep end and ate 4 good quality tabs and ended up having an ego death experience and an out of body experience so to speak.

Somehow I remember looking at myself as if it were through someone else's eyes, nothing like looking at myself in the mirror. I was like, so this is how I look to other people, cool :).

I was happy with what I saw but it wasn't how I thought I would see myself.

All in all, it makes me feel good. Generally, it just makes me feel heavy though.

For me, ive found that while i was in an LSD trip i would have a hard time accepting my self image, i would invision what i look like to the world and it scared me a bit. but after coming close to ego loss, my self esteem rose. i believe that i found acceptance thus allowing me to see myself in a new positive light. Also, looking in the mirror while tripping can be scary but just staring at yourself really allows you to accept it. after the trip, i felt more confident with my image than i have in a long time, almost like i was reset and saw myself the way i really am.

Hmm this is interesting. Just last week I tripped by myself and as is always the case looking the mirror I dont at first "recognize" myself and then as I start to I realize that I look exactly the way I want to. I mean, I could stand to lose a couple pounds but im not big by any means, I'm definitely self conscious about myself in a lot of ways but I love my long hair, I love the way my look is portrayed ..in other words, I am very comfortable with looking kind of like a modern day hippy.

I sometimes find self infatuation comes to me in the mirror on LSD, which is hilarious because I'm about the furthest from selfish by any means

I feel like LSD has actually made me MORE comfortable with myself as I am, if anything.

I have also had a bit of an episode while tripping as I visualized myself as "unfit" and grossly skinny before, I have a pretty low-self esteem to begin with though :/

The visual effects of LSD tend to emphasize hairs and blemishes on the skin, as well as warping the shapes of body parts, which is uncomfortable for some people.
