Love Parade

Did anyone else out there have the pleasure of attending love parade in Germany or in San Fransisco? Every year i hope they will bring it back or that something new like it will pop up. There is just something so cool about a gigantic festival that takes over a city.




Does anyone know of anything similar that could fill the void for me? Any festival i have been to doesn't compare in any way. Tens of thousands upon thousands of people from every single country, every single electronic genre imaginable(mainly house, techno, trance and schranz though)100's of DJ's. I also feel like there was ultimate freedom at love parade. No overbearing security, able to smoke, consume substance and drink in peace, naked people everywhere!


Oh yeah.... and it was completely free to attend(except for the plane ticket if you didn't live there)

Yes! I went to the 2005 love parade in San Fran and it was a great experience. I believe they are still trying to do it again but from what I understand they have been unable to secure a space/permits for it. We can keep hoping!
 
I was part of a float in 2011 when the SF Love Parade was held in Oakland. It didn't go that well; not as much turnout as previously, I guess, although it was my first and only time attending. (Are they still doing it in Oakland?)
