When I had ringing in my ears, I always turned on a floor fan and kept it close to me. The fan noise helped me a lot.

You're welcome, hope it helps. Also, having it blow air on your head while sleeping so you have wind going by your ears can also help. I just bundle up in blankets and poke my head out into the wind.
always wondered why many need fans, white noise ect, yeah thanks for that:hypno:

I've had tinnitus for over 20 years. Half my family is on hearing aids but I've heard that once you get hearing aids, you can kiss the rest of you hearing goodbye. So I've just grown used to the ringing and tune it out with music or just ignore it if I can. Sorry I don't have any advice.

Hey @Robi I've had tinnitus for a long time, perhaps a decade? It's a combination of auditory abuse from too much loud music at raves, bush doofs, concerts and festivals, but it was compounded when I started on my antidepressant medication 8 years ago, as it is a rare side effect of duloxetine. I've tried various methods to either get rid of it, or to temporarily subdue it, but nothing works. I'm just used to it now. And as Electrum said, white noise such as a fan, or you can even buy little white noise machines, definitely help when it's super quiet. As Jerry said, listening to music helps as well. But mostly...sorry to say...you just get used to it.
