Lortab lasting an extremely long time

The other day I got three generic lortab (m363) 10/500. I broke them all in half, took them with a soda and some chips, and waited. After about half an hour I noticed the effects, feeling warm and comfortable, goofy and happy as well as a little sedated. After another half hour I could tell it was at full effect, I was very itchy and euphoric, in total opiate bliss.

The interesting (or awesome) thing was, I layed down and started watching tv, and continued to feel the peak effects from about 5pm to 1am in the morning! I stayed in the same spot the whole time, feeling completely good all the way through until i finally fell asleep.

Now, I've used opiates for several years, keeping it to once a month or less (so as not to develope a tolerance), but I've never experienced anything like this. Has anyone else had opiate highs last considerably longer than normal, and more specifically does anyone know what I could have done (or could do again) to reach the same effect?

Or did I just get lucky?

you taking any other medications currently? i am guessing you took something that potentiated the effects, or at least, made them last alot longer than normal.

The only other meds I'm taking is amoxicillin for an illness, and protonix (a proton pump inhibitor) which is basically just another one of those prescription heartburn regulators. I've taken that for years though.

I know the amount of food can affect the situation. I hadn't eaten all day, but I started eating when I took the pills. I also smoked some buds too, but I do that all the time and have also done that a ton of times with opiates, so I counted both of those ideas out.

Some other ideas people have given me is that my blood sugar was low all day, and when I took the pills and ate it could have jumped. They had no clue as to what effect that could have, but it's just something else to think about.

Also, I used to take zoloft, but stopped a while ago because it made me feel like a zombie. Only that I've used opiates since I quit zoloft, and didn't notice the same effect as this time.

I really just want to be able to make this happen again :D

That protonix affects a number of enzymes, and could have lenghtened the time that the hydrocodone was metabolized.....
