Hey guys,

Well I'm once again withdrawaling, albeit somewhat minor (compared to previous hells) Kratom withdrawal. High doses of plain leaf, minor to me. I've been substituting in Loperamide ~30mg every 16 hours or so. Still not sleeping well, but all other issues seem okay. The more information that seems to come forward on this topic, the more worried I become, however.

My question is, while rapid-Googling Loperamide issues, a lot of forum threads come up for Irritable Bowel Syndrome forums. These people report taking somewhat high doses (one reported 11-16 pills a day) for long stretches of time, yet they also claim they just stopped when it "stopped working" and there is NO mention of withdrawal anywhere. Any explanation?

Because they are taking it as intended(albeit in slightly higher doses). To get WD, you'll need to either take very high doses, or take it with CYP3A4/PGP inhibitors.

As I've said before, loperamide not only has trouble penetrating the BBB, it also has HORRIBLE bioavailability, by itself. Without taking high doses, loperamide by itself won't even reach the bloodstream, and even then, it would take fairly high doses for any CNS effects.(by itself; you can get effects from as low as 20mg if you load up on inhibitors).
