Hey y'all,

So, I'm going to be doing a rapid taper/detox from opiate pain meds (you can read my story and loperamide experiment here http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/699611-My-Loperamide-Detox-Experiment-Advice-Wisdom-Welcome-lt-3 ), and another member (thank you, dear!) suggested I use poppy tea instead of loperamide.

(Anyone else notice how much freaking time you put in researching this site?...) I've combed through dozens of threads and topics, and can't really find somewhat of an actual answer:

Which is the lesser evil, loperamide or poppy seed tea? - which one is better for wiping out the withdrawals, which one is more addictive, how long should I stay on them, and how fast can I come off them?

Soooo many questions, lol, sorry...

PST works because some of the seeds are coated with opium, so you would be consuming mostly morphine , some codeine and to a lesser extent other alkaloids.
Of course this is much more effective as a drug and also for alleviating WD's than loperamide, Same addiction risks apply to PST as opium so yes it is more addictive than lope.
Loperamide won't get you high but will help with WD's somewhat , so I guess PST is more like ORT and Loperamide is more for going cold turkey.
It depends on what approach you want to take really. there isn't much point continuing to take lope much beyond the withdrawl phase, if you were to use PST to help with WD's and to taper down this will be a problem since the potency of Poppy seed varies hugely and it will be hard to correctly titrate down your dose.

good luck

Poppy tea is heavy in different opiate alkaloids. Definitely addictive and abusable. I would imagine you could use it to taper, but dosing is difficult to get accurate because the potency of different pods and seeds vary.

Loperamide is the lesser of two evils here, it doesn't affect your brain any but personally helped with a lot of the physical symptoms of withdrawal.
