I'm just looking for some good music for my lovely gf and I to roll on. I love rolling but hate techno/drum and bass/ house/ dubstep/ anything of that nature. Please share some insight if you feel the same or even if you just have a suggestion.

Coming from an entirely different and much older generation than most here, I would advise to play just the music you like. Make a playlist, put it on shuffle, and walk away from the machine. Vary the tunes, some fast, some not. If you don't like a song that starts playing, just hit the button to skip forward. It's really not a big deal if the right 100 songs or so are in the playlist.

The people we party with have this whole pissing match between a couple of the guys about "whose music is best," and bicker about each others choices. I find it childish. If you don't like a song, just move on. Go dance in another room. Go outside to catch some air. But whatev. So, when the wife and I do it, we make the music stress free by just letting Mr. Ipod make the choices.

But, if you actually were looking for SONG suggestions for a playlist you are going to build, then my two cents worth would be: Put "Ready to Go" by Republica on it. And "Madazulu" by Deep Forest. And "In Between Days" by Cure. And "Dance Away" by Roxy Music. And "Almost Saturday Night" by Georgia Satellites. And "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol. And "Float On" by Modest Mouse. And "Eight Piece Box" by Southern Culture on the Skids. And, and, and...

Well, that's what we like. You know what you like. Just put it on a playlist, put it on shuffle, and walk away.

^YES. post rock is simply amazing on mdma. especially when group rolling.

my ideal setting: indoors with good speakers (makes music better in a closed comfy room) and nice post rock playlist (explosions in the sky, this will destroy you, god is an astronaut, etc.) makes a roll amazing.
the music is instrumental and very dynamic. full of highs and lows. power and beauty. with it being instrumental and so dynamic, i find it to be the perfect music for having some intense conversations. plus the music is not only fantastic but it aids the creative process that is conversing. its like a soundtrack to your emotions.
takes you on an amazing ride.

i cant express how much i love post rock for a roll. (imo) TOTALLY beats any type of electronic based music.

Sigur Ros (Ágætis byrjun), Dirty Projectors (Bitte Orca) Animal Collective (MPP), Panda Bear (person pitch), the Verve (urban hymns), Beach Boys (pet sounds), Disco Inferno (the five ep's), M83 (hurry up, we're dreaming), Pink Floyd (dark side of the moon or wish you were here), Radiohead (in rainbows), Ride, Talk Talk (Laughing Stock), tune-yards ( w h o k i l l), Beach House (teen dream), sufjan stevens (illinois)

the list goes on. all those albums are perfect for rolling in my opinion

It is electronic music, but it really is so much more. Listen to Burial - Untrue LP. Damn, it is immense. ;) You could also check out Mogwai, if you're going post-rocky.

Untrue is awesome. it, along with The Field's From Here We Go Sublime (great electronic music) were both tied as the best reviewed albums of 2007.
my fave track off it is prob archangel

mogwai are awesome, especially on Mogwai Young Team. Mogwai Fear Satan is definitely my favorite track off the album.
like herod has a long screeching section which i don't really like nor think would be good for a roll.
i understand when bands put in some loud noise or something for "effect", but dont do it for 8 minutes -_-
i get the point after 1.

good music is great sober though too. must add that in there.

Two words- Parliament + Funkadelic. The funk is excellent for tripping or rolling.
Give up the funk- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ-9FpUh0q0&feature=related
One nation under a groove- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYpbG1ThpH4&feature=related
P. Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbkcWo5I_A8
Flash Light- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0ZGNGBNIL8

And one of the trippiest songs ever made- Promentalshitbackwashpsychosis Enema Squad (The Doo-Doo Chasers)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-l_io0fU7w

Funk yeah, nothing goes together quite like funk and stimulants. One Nation Under a Groove, The Mothership Connection, Maggot Brain (I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe, but I was not offended...), Funkentelechy... endless classics.

Free Your Mind...And Your Ass Will Follow was made while the band was under the influence of LSD. Not as great rolling music, but pretty cool for tripping.

I'm also a big fan of Led Zeppelin and David Bowie while rolling. Bob Marley is awesome too, but a little slow for the peak imo. Brian Eno is great but depending on the album he'd count as electronic. Here Come the Warm Jets is maybe not considered electronic though, I dunno.

Classic psychedelic rock in general is good- 13th Floor Elevators, Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, all that jazz. And prog rock- King Crimson and early Genesis are great for rolling. Starless and Bible Black is an amazing album.

I'm more of a metal fan so most of the songs I post wont do it for everyone but here they are anyways.

Equilibrium - Mana [instrumental] (Link), and/or Kurzes Epos [instrumental] (Link)

Blind Guardian - The Bards Song in the Forest (Link)

Turisas - Miklagard Overture (Link), and/or One More (Link), and/or Rex Regi Rebellis (Link), and/or Katuman Kaiku [Instrumental] (Link)

Ensiferum - Victory Song (Link), and/or Lai Lai Hei (Link), and/or The Longest Journey (Link)

Rebellion - Thor (Link), and/or Einherjar (Link), and/or Canute the Great (Link)

Tyr - Ride (Link), and/or Northern Gate (Link), and/or Northern Lights [instrumental] (Link)

That's just to name a few, to be honest Turisas is my favorite mainly because of the lyrics and the detail and imagery in them. They always give me wicked closed eye visuals. Anyways if you liked any of this music just left me know and I can recommend more but if not just ignore my post and please don't dis metal, it's not for everyone.

I am completely the same, i dont like all that loud music (when im rolling), i prefer beautiful quiet music. Here are some suggestions:

Greg Laswell - The one i love
Years around the sun - Miles Away
Mumford & Sons - The Cave
Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats

Gl rolling ;)

Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, Kite...

I listened to Mogwai one time when I rolled, hooked up to sound-reactive LED speakers and surrounded by mirrors. Words cannot describe how magical it was.
