Been taking 40mg per day for last 9 years with varying degrees of success for anxiety. Lately feeling like its not working at all. Been prescribed 225mg of Lyrica to take with prozac daily. Not sure about doing this. Dont want to start taking lots of combinations of drugs. Anyone out there been taking anti depressants and painkillers for anxiety.

Lyrica is pretty safe and maybe your doctor felt it would work well with your antidepressant. I'm wondering why after nine years he kept you at 40 mg with prozac. Many doctors I've been to will start me off small and gradually increase the dose.

Be careful with the lyrica. Yes, its great for anxiety but has some terrible WDs, if you ever want to come off it. I would only really recommend Lyrica to people who have neuropathic pain, that cannot be controlled by anything else.

lyrica was terrible for me.

of course everyone is different, but I became somnolent and had intense auditory hallucinations from it. I was taking it in conjunction with venlafaxine.

try it. if you're being prescribed it, it doesn't hurt to try it. worst case scenario it doesn't work, or you have a bad reaction to it which is treatable.

keep us posted. :)

Lyrica was pretty good for reducing my overall levels of anxiety (GAD) but it just gave me so much brain fog. Cognitively speaking; it really slowed me down, speech was slurred, short memory was really affected, concentration during conversations was tough... I eventually gave up with it because I just couldn't study whilst on it.

Just give it a go :)
