I know I probably won't be able to get any help but I just want to know who else might be going through this and if there's anything that helped them. My head been twitching for about a year from what I'm pretty sure is from a three year long weed binge. Like the way it does when you're withdrawing except I'm not withdrawing anymore. Is it worth going to see a doctor about it? I really don't think they'll be able to do anything.

I have never heard of such a thing.

Have you considered consulting a physician? Where exactly are you located?

I have had a slight head twitch for a few years. I believe (for me) that its a result of the anti-depressants I was taking or the sudden cessation of taking those anti-depressants.

The twitching is slight but more pronounced when I am more emotional than normal or when I dwell on thoughts more than normal.

I don't have any advice since I still have this affectation.

You aren't alone

You mention that you stopped using cannabis a year ago, did you discontinue any other drugs or have you started taking any other drugs (including antidepressants, etc)?

I'm experiencing something similar, is it a head twitch or a neck twitch ? (like head spins to the side) any other twitches associated with it either ? Like arm, leg or finger twitches ? I'm getting these, but I'm still smoking cannabis so I don't think it's due to stopping...

Sometimes, out of the blue, my legs or arms or even my neck will twitch.

But it doesn't happen so often, and when it does, I'm usually in my bed trying to fall asleep.

It doesn't really bother me that much, but I have no idea what's causing it.

Could be lack of calcium/magnesium or something because sometimes, after I do MDMA, I find my body twitches a little bit more than usual, and hands don't have the same smooth flow when I move them, rather they shake like someone with parkinson. But this is only the day after MDMA, when my body is low on calcium and magnesium and other shit.

Also, when I smoke weed, my legs will fucking twitch, especially if it's strong weed.

What would a physician be able to do? Would some kind of anti convulsion medication help? I'm in southern california. It's only a very slight internal head twitch, like neurons firing weird in my brain or blood being pumped too hard into my head.(I have really high blood pressure.) Exercising seems to help relieve a little bit but it comes back. When I rarely smoke weed it seems to really amplify it. When I was coming off weed I would get urges to repeatedly twitch my mouth or click my tongue but that was in my control and doesn't happen anymore. Most other substances amplify it too but not as much so. When I was really addicted to weed I would just keep smoking heavily even though it was making my head twitch. I've been using alcohol and drinking a lot of caffeine to replace weed. I think it might be an accumulation of all the stuff I've done and the weed being the main factor. It fades in and out, sometimes being barely noticeable to pretty annoying like when I'm stressed out just lying on my bed. I'm just going to do my best to give my brain a rest from all this stuff and hope for the best I guess. Also I said its been going on for about a year but its actually been going on for longer like I mentioned earlier it was happening while I was using weed but I thought it was just because I was using and that it would go away when I stopped.

Jesus, that sounds like it would kill the high...

These could definitely have something to do with it too. If you use drugs like benzodiazepines, they could certainly cause this too.

Tardive dyskanesia (look it up)- have you ever been prescribed antipsychotics or speedy drugs?

I guess this cause you said you have used drugs so many you used a bad one that caused this...

No I've taken been prescribed anti-psychotics or speedy drugs. I looked up Tardive dyskanesia and found it interesting that I had those symptoms though. Ya weed stopped becoming a high and more so something that was just spacing me out. I'm surprised this type of head twitching isn't reported more often with people who smoke a lot of meth or other things.

It is. Have u seen a meth addict they are some twitchy mother fuckers lol jkjk

I hope your symptoms go away. I had it after taking meds and adderall but seems to e a lot etter now that i got off of them.

A lot of it is mental, for as long as I've had the twitching I also get this urge to clench my teeth really hard and take a deep breath whenever I think about stupid embarrassing stuff I've done even if it happened a long time ago. Seems to be connected to a lot of other mental issues I have now that I never had before like repetitive thoughts and not being able to let go.

No, I went the hospital yesterday and they told me I need to wait until Monday to get medication. I go through hours answering the same list of questions for like five different people. This one lady asked me if I was suicidal seriously like ten times with her back to me while facing a computer. Then they just give me a benedryl. #$%# I just want to rant like five pages on The Dark Side but I'm restraining for the sake of the community. Every experience with mental hospitals, psychologist, psychiatrists has been so negative. The whole time I'm there I hold back my laughter at how utterly insane I already feel and then combined with the insanity of those places which are supposed help me feel better. Honestly nothing is going to get rid of these head twitches except stopping drugs so I don't even want to take them even though I'm feeling this way.

I'm going to go ahead and move this to The Dark Side. We've gone through the diagnosis etc, and now you're looking for support, it's better suited to over there. <3

(I have really high blood pressure.)

This could very well be the cause of atleast some of your problems and in anycase you need to get it looked into. High blood pressure can cause all sort's of weird problems and fluctuation in BP can cause weird feelings in your head. Get it checked out by a doc ASAP.

I didnt see the bp message.

Def coul be a problem. You were diagnosed with high bp. Do you take medication?
