Lollipop as vehicle for buccal ROA. Is it viable for NBOMe's

I was reading up on Fentanyl recently and was surprised to learn that it is formulated as a lollipop (as well as TD patches and lozenges). I immediately thought of the NBOMe's and their lack of oral bioavailablity and thought hey... NBOMe-lollipops. Would this be viable?

The Actiq package reads 'equivalent to 400 mcg Fentanyl base', is that because some of the active compound is lost e.g. through swallowing and the lollipops actually contain more of the active compound than the equivalent dose to compensate? and would this be necessary for an NBOMe-lollipop

Any and all suggestions welcome!

According to wikipedia, the oral bioavailability of fentanyl is only slightly lower than buccal, so it doesn't really matter how much is absorbed through the mouth vs. intestines. I doubt that ratio is consistent at all, with NBOMe's that would be a problem.

Not quite; the 400 µg Actiq lollies contain 628.4 µg of fentanyl citrate, which is equivalent to 400 µg of fentanyl base.

Don't know anything about NBOMe lollies, though.

^yes Alcyone is correct. When monographs talk about base vs. salt, bioavailability has nothing to do with it. It's just the portion of the compound that is not the counter-ion (is COUNTERION a word? Sounds like a deity).

Also, the Actiq lollipops are designed for old people who have trouble swallowing pills.

I wish end-users would just acquire and learn how to use finely-sensitive scales. There was mention the other day of a vendor supplying prepared doses of BDPC, with 50 mcg of drug mixed into a 500 mg capsule. How do you know you can trust the person who packaged such things? If they (for instance) aliquot incorrectly, it can easily lead to a fatal overdose.

Fentanyl citrate....?

Hello mates..Well, i know i'm a bit out of topic, but i think that you're people with good knowledge about fentanyl, so i would appreciate if you could give me some of your "lights".. So, that's my story. I'm on fent patches (the 100's) for 8 years. I use(stick it, as prescribed) one patch for 2 days, so that's 15 for a month. As you can understand, my tolerance has gone...VERY HIGH. So when i change the patches, i use the "spent", which has been on my skin for 48 hrs, bucally. Sometimes it doesn't do anything at all, but some other times it seems to work and help with my pain issues(neuropathetic pain, a LOT of pain), it doesn't make any miracles, but i get a little help. Now, i'm wonder that if i could throw some citric acid to the patch (sticky side of course..), (and maybe 2-3 drops of water, to cover all the surface of the patch, with a litl water and citric acid..), to the spent (for 48 hrs) patch and turn it to fent citrate (fent in the patches isn't citrate,that's sure, i think that is fent free base but i'm not sure..). I'm searching for pain relief first, and if i could get a litl warm feelin, some euphoria, as these are the feelings that i got in the first years doing this "method". Of course i know 1-2 good methods to potentiate the transdermal patch, (ex. you stick a 100 patch, and with the way i'm talking it's like you have stuck a 100 and a 50 together ,at least, i do it a lot of times but i don't wanna prescribe this method here, cause there are a lot of children, kids, that could do the thing and then...what?..turn blue and...no, of course i don't wanna smthng like that happen and, ...well, i'm sure you're understanding me (by the way, if someone of you are indresting in this, drop me a pm or e-mail..). From what you say (or better write..), i've understand that you sure know what are you talking about, so i'm waiting for some advices, my pain is very strong usually, and when someone is always in pain, he wants to get rid of it, and have some euphoria..So, that's it, i'm sorry if i make you tired reading this, and also i'm sorry cause i'm out of topic, but i thought that this is a good thread to tell my problem, and that it isn't completely out of topic...Anyway, thanks and if some of you can give me some ideas about my problem, i would appreciate a LOT, really, cause i have a family, i'm a father and i don't want be in a fuckin pain all the time...Oh, and don't forget, fent patches are the only fent products that i've used, i never try fentora, actiq, onsolis and others.
