Lofexidine for opiate detox?

Easy guys, been offered lofexidine as a way off/out of my addiction currently on a script for methadone, but often smoke gear on top but have really had enough now and need to get my shit together. Just want to know from someone whos done it what the score is, does it work? compared to?. Would really like to hear from anyone whos taken that route and who can give me some good sound advice please, rather than someone quoting wikipedia at me. thanks in advance. Mr.C

It's a very useful tool. It's not going to make the process painless but it goes a long way towards controlling the unpleasant sensations caused by the bodies adrenal response. It will remove a lot of the restlessness, hot and cold chills etc that are caused by excess adrenaline, it really does smooth the edges as it were. Definitely accept it, it's a big help. Used in conjunction with a sedative of some sort you can really alleviate a lot of the suffering. I came off 24mg of subs using lofexodine, pregabalin and promethazine and it was really very bearable.
