Forgive me if I am posting in the wrong section, I am new and In need of adivce/opinions. Three nights ago (Saturday) I took 15-20mg (things got blurry) of Oxycodone, accompanied with around 8 shots of alcohol. Being as this was only my second time taking oxy's I very messed up, but ended up making it home and to bed fine. I awoke the next morning with an awful headache, as well as overwhelming stomach pain and what seemed like never ending waves of nausea. I proceeded to lay in bed, curled in a ball, waiting for the "storm" to pass for the entire day. Come Monday morning I am loads better but still a extreme stomach pain in my abdominal section, primarily in the morning, inbetween meals, and during the night. All of those symptoms raise red flags to me signaling more than just a "Oxy Hangover" which I researched. On to Tuesday morning and I feel better, but still have had stomach pain throughout the entire day! It comes in waves, suppressed by antiacids and calmed by meals. But it has stuck with me consistently throughout the entire day, spiking at different times. The stomach pain seems to be my only symptom, but I may have had a darkened stool on Sunday (hard to say as my feces were the least of my worries at the time). Please any input would be greatly appreciated!! Will I be able to just ride this out without seeing a doctor?? I am 185lbs, 22 year old male, otherwise healthy if that is of any help. Thanks.

Hi Madog, it doesn't sound too likely that you could have done much damage with that lot other than make yourself feel crap.
It sounds like the symptoms are slowly fading but the fact that you keep topping up with antacids may be what is keeping them going for so long. As with many things you can get a rebound effect from antacids where your body creates more acid to compensate. Your stomach needs to be acid so the more you try and make it alkaline the more acid your body will create.
Since you do feel better when you eat, and that has to be a good thing, why not try grazing on nicely bland not too acid not too alkaline foods for a bit, a nice bowl of porridge for breakfast is just the thing for a dodgy tummy in my experience then beans or lentils later on in the day. A day of that and you will feel right as rain I reckon.

Most likely just a serious hangover..doubt you did long term damage.

Without a tolerance to oxy never mix it with alcohol. I know of several people who have died after using these two drugs in conjunction.

(not saying it's safe to mix both drugs with a tolerance to oxy, just with a tolerance you do have a better chance of waking up again)

TL;DR: do not use these drugs at the same time.

Hi madog, if your still around I reccomend putting yourself on a proton pump inhibitor like otc prilosec (google search otc ppi's if your not in the US to see what's available) for a week and see if your symptoms start to get better, if so you likely have an ulcer and will want to continue treatment even if you feel better as they will come right back if not healed fully.

Alcohol is known for irritating the stomach and causing ulcers, though this usually develops over time. I actually have experience with peptic ulcers so I'd like to ask you a few questions if you don't mind.

1. Do your symptoms get worse when your stomach is empty?

2. Would you call this pain a stinging or burning sensation?

3. Do you notice yourself getting rather bloated when you haven't in the past?

4. What's your history regarding alcohol and drugs... do you smoke tobacco, drink coffee, or take NSAIDS like ibuprofen, aspirin, or Naproxen?

If the answer is yes to these then it sounds like an ulcer. If you go to a doctor they will screen you for a bacteria called h.pylori and if you test positive, then expect a round of antibiotics. They will also prescribe a ppi, likely prilosec or protonix...the former being otc in the US (not sure where you reside). You can also use an H1 blocker like pepcid but these are alot weaker so they need to be taken multiple times a day. You can go ahead and google a list of H1 blockers as well to browse your options.

If you notice these antacids start to make you feel better after a few days to a week then continue using them for at least 3-4 weeks, and if it comes back within a period of time after a course of ppi therapy then it's likely caused by the bacteria and/or your exposing yourself to too many stomach irritants. Ulcers are no fun so I hope that's not what you have, but then again it's better than liver troubles which thankfully is very unlikely in this case. Any dark urine? Jaundice? If not then liver troubles can likely be ruled out. With that said your gonna want to see a doctor if your problems persist or get worst despite using H1 blockers and ppi's. Hope this helps :)

I have hep c. Do you get exhausted from a small amount of exertion? Have you had blood panel tests done....you can get it from not using condoms or getting a blowjob from someone that has it...or gay sex if thats your style.
