I posted this in Medical Q&A but got no help. This is my favorite forum so I'm sure someone here can help me. Here's what I posted:
I just want an answer from an EDUCATED person who can site sources to back what they say, please. If you have first hand experience, please respond as well.
Ok, 2 weeks ago I was started on Lithium Extended Release tablets (Eskalith CR). 450mg, 2x a day. So 900mg a day. I've been doing this for 2 weeks now and recently whenever I try to use an opiate, it seems as if I need much more than normal to get high. And I don't get that high unless the dose is VERY high. Ex: I snorted 20mg OxyContin which usually gets me high enough to nod off. However, I barely felt it. Is this due to the Lithium or something unreleated? And if so, what can be done about this so I can get high off opiates with normal dosing? Any info or advice whatsoever is appreciated. Thank you.

I've taken lithium and oxycontin more than a few times, never thought it decreased the power. Just come to terms that 20mg will never get you high again.....

Um, no. Why would 20mg never get me high again? That makes no sense whatsoever. Can somebody please give me an answer to my question??? I'm very puzzled over this whole situation...

Tolerance is not the culprit here. When I used to be addicted to opiates (200-300mg Oxy per day) 20mg snorted still had a greater effect than now with the Lithium. Also, I now use infrequently, compared to how I used to be. So the question remians and tolerance is not the answer. Help... Anybody else??
