I have been using liquid Buprenorphine (IM) for a long time. I was seeing a pain management doctor, but he is no longer available. I have tried the pill form but can't tolerate it. It makes me very sick. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about finding a new doctor? Getting past the receptionist on the phone is my first challenge! I guess most doctors are apprehensive about prescribing this form because it's a "shot". I have never shot my med IV. I have always used it IM as prescribed. Any suggestions?

ever tried rectal administration? While sublingual makes me sick, rectal doesn't. You can make the pill form into a solution very easily so it would be much much easier to get than IM ampules.

Yeah, I highly doubt you're going to get prescribed liquid bupe anymore, sounds like that doctor was pretty liberal. (must have been nice ;) ) May I ask which tablet you tried sublingually? I've heard many folks say that the Naloxone in Suboxone tablets make them sick, while the generic version Subutex(buprenorphine, no Naloxone) doesn't make them sick, whether they use it sublingually, intra-nasal, ect.

^^The problem is some Dr's won't prescibe subutex, and some insurance companys won't cover it, unless you're a pregnant women.

Subutex's patent is up, and now anyone can make bupe, but bupe with naloxone still under patent, and still expensive as hell. It's a racket, be ware
