Lingering negative side effects of unknown RC

Hello there, Bluelight.

It's been a little over two weeks since I dosed 5 hits of some RC, believing I was sold Lucy. I've been doing some research and talked to other people on the internet about what drug I possibly would've been ingesting, which have led me to believe it was NBOMe. I'm here seeking guidance on how to make as swift a recovery as possible from these negative side effects I've been experiencing.

During the trip I first realized that it was something other Lucy when my entire face felt like it had been hit with a shovel. It was completely numb even after having taken three magnesium pills earlier. The visuals were much more present than what I would see on Lucy, but of an entirely different character. It looked to me more of the visuals that a really heavy MDMA trip would be like. The head space wasn't the same either as I was still much in control of the situation. On higher doses of Lucy and mushrooms I'm used to having much bigger ego-dissolving experiences. I was also sweating extensively throughout the whole trip which made me dehydrated towards the end.

As I was coming down I had a really scary experience where my visualization of what was in front of me got really weird. I would for instance look down at my hands and they would seem far away, small and contorted. I also had quite a lot of built up pressure in my head which felt really uncomfortable. I drank a lot of water trying to re-hydrate myself and lied down with my legs up on some pillows. I was high for two days and I could not sleep one single bit. I also couldn't form thoughts in my head so I would lie awake staring at the ceiling in silence. The people that I spoke to about this experience believed it was NBOMe as the symptoms seemed to match that profile.

Fast forward 'til today I'm still experiencing negative side effects, but not as bad as the first couple of days after the experience itself. I still have problems forming thoughts in my head, which makes holding a conversation that much harder for me, and at times I feel like an idiot talking to people. I still experience some built up pressure in various places of my head, especially around the sinuses, but this has gotten a bit better lately. In addition to that I have lingering visual disturbances, especially in the dark. They seem to get worse whenever I'm tired or hungry. I also sleep restlessly waking up two to three times a night.

What I'd like to know is how long should I expect these side effects to occur? I've heard a lot of different opinions ranging from couple of weeks, 'til a couple of months, half a year and even up towards a year and beyond. I realize it's hard to give an estimate as all cases are very individual. I can live with the visual disturbances, but I hope that the pressure around my head and the problem I have forming thoughts will disappear before that long.

As for what I'm doing to aid my recovery is to work out every second day, sleep a lot, eat really healthy and supplement with multivitamin, zink, additonal vitamin c, magnesium, omega-3 fish oil. I'm also drinking a lot of quality tea/herbs. Is there any other supplement I should include? And considering I'm quite low on these values, should I take more than the recommended daily dose? I'm a bit worried about vitamin overdose.

I was planning a trip to Peru in February 2016 to partake in seven Ayahuasca ceremonies. Can I expect to recover enough to be ready for such powerful an experience by then? If I'm not mistaken then Ayahuasca isn't actually all that hard on the brain, much less so than these RC's being sold today. I'm just worried my nervous system and receptors haven't developed enough by that time. I'm planning on abstaining from weed and alcohol for a long time to come.

Thank you all very much for helping me out!

What form was the drug administered? Was it on a blotter, sugar cube etc? Did you notice a taste to it?

You said you were 'high' for 2 days, but how long did the trip last? Some psychedelic amphetamines could match the profile considering most of them are even administered on a blotter, even though they are bit rare, but they are passed and sold as 'acid' very often, at least in my country. NBOMe might be too.

Whatever your case might be, figuring out what drug 'caused' it probably will not help your situation the smallest bit. I wish all the best for you withdrawal, I am myself going through very severe HPPD caused by acid/mdma/cannabis and I have been sober for almost 2 months now.

It was dropped on 5 sugar cubes and there was a different taste to it compared to Lucy, but nothing bitter like MDMA. The trip lasted for about 10 hours, but I couldn't sleep for two days because my body was really energetic. Could it have been something other than NBOMe?

I'm sorry to hear about your HPPD situation :( Sending many happy thoughts your way. Time will heal anything.

It could have been a number of things, but the NBOMes are often distributed like that. Also, there are more than one. 25i is the one I've seen around here, and it was always on blotter. One of the symptoms I noticed from people that did a little too much was a severe detachment from identity. Most people seemed to have a pretty standard trip, but if i remember correctly it's active in small microgram doses, so it wouldn't be difficult to accidentally take 30+ hits if it's not distributed evenly.

I did some more research and I'm pretty confident that I dosed nbome. Since they are full 5-HT2A agonists I'm a bit worried that I did some damage to my receptors, or have I just depleted their resources entirely? I was planning on traveling to Peru in about 9 months time to participate in 7 Ayahuasca ceremonies so I was wondering if my receptors will have recovered enough by then? And even if I've rebuilt enough resources could a potentially damaged/newly rejuvanated receptor from the nbome experience interfere with the Ayahuasca?

Thanks for helping me out!

These symptoms will pass in time, IME anxiety cab bring about very similar symptoms so it's likely you have a bit of both.

HPPD is an odd one for me, I've taken a fair amount of LSD in the past and quite honestly an unholy amount of MDMA, I often see things in periphery vision or suffer minor visual of audible disturbances, do you think psychedelics have caused this or just made you more aware of the fragile veneer of what we like to call reality, I'm honestly not sure.

Over time will you just become less aware of these things as the filters and failsafes that we build so we can function return to full strength, I suspect so and belive much of this isnt physical but more the after effects of altering your perception.

Apologies if all of that sounds like so much nonsense, I'm not belittling your current situation but others might refer to this period as integrating the psychedelic experience, you stepped through the door and on your return you are more open to the wonder of how it really is, you shine brighter for it, try to embrace it rather then see it as damage or illness that needs to be cured, the intrusive stuff will settle down in time.<3

It might very well be that I have a different perception of reality, and I'm starting to feel better about that, but there's definitely still a physical side to it as I still feel somewhat "empty" in my head and I'm experiencing mood swings, very little emotional response (although this has gotten a bit better the last couple of days) and pressure around my sinuses - especially when I'm hungry. Anxiety is quite likely ccontributing to this, but I'm starting to feel better about it as I know I've just drained my body of resources and that I will recover in time. The visual snow might stay with me for a long time, but if I could just get back to feeling normal that'd be great. What actually worries me the most is if my receptors/neurons haven't healed enough by the time I go to Peru to participate in the Ayahuasca ceremonies as I was really looking forward to that. If I eat healthy, exercise and sleep well should I expect to recover enough by 9 months to be able to drink Ayahuasca without having to think of a less-than-optimal 5-HT2A receptor or too many dead neurons? And even if I fully recover, is then a newly rejuvenated receptor/neurons less able to cope with the powerful Ayahuasca experience than that of one who's been strong for several years? I just don't know how this works.

What you're saying doesn't come off as a lot of nonsense. I've already been looking at the exact same thing and I've started investing in it aswell.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out, I'm very thankful to have such a forum where people encourage and support eachother.
