As though the moon has wings and flies
into each sing song night time sky,
and sings a little tune for you.
___Hums a song for little bird blue?

The ache of night-time hears the call
of the moon about to fall,
and harkens to the drip drop sound
___of each moon tear falling to the ground.

Unless the shadows betray her lies,
the moon is in the sky's disguise.
She vanishes in sun's great fire;
___or is she simply climbing higher?

She sings alone a song to you.
Can you sing her little bird blue?
Hold onto her branches and descry
___the moonlight's tearstain'd silver lies?

Her songs were old and carried on
lightyears away and now are gone.
She cries for the voice in youth she lost;
___cries for the craters tear-embossed.

Her youth curdled like moon-white whey,
her age has withered her all away
to sing to you her final breath
___as time belies the moon to death.

She sings to little true blue birds,
but her lips no longer match the words.
She sings to you lightyears gone by,
___but now her voice begins to cry.

Little blue bird, could you live on
as time would end, so would her song,
and you would hear past all light years
___the sound of astral splashing tears.

She sings to you lightyears gone by;
if you through the branches still can descry
her lies, unbleached by sun's cruel rays
___you'll see night's tears wash out the days.
