Ive used opiates recreationally for about 5 or 6 years. At its peak, I was probably doing 20mg of roxy (nasal) 3 times a week. That maybe went on for a month or so. Thats the only time ive ever felt any withdrawals. They were light, and lasted for about a week. I took over a month off after this. Im pretty disciplined, and I dont think I ever genuinely got close to the "edge" of addiction. Maybe just danced with it for a minute, and then was like "ok, time to get back to work". Over these 5 or 6 years, its usually been of the once week or once a month variety. I respect the little dance I had, and simply will not allow myself to even touch those levels again.

Always just to party with friends. Never to make myself feel better or whatever. I dont ever have cravings. I just like to party down every once in a while. Do you think there would be any brain chemical production shift even with light use over the past couple years (15-20mg percocet 1-2 times a month...dont do the nasal thing at all any more)?

Ill also add that ive always had at least some sort of weight lifting or cardio thing going on. Im in pretty good shape. I also follow a good diet. I care very much about my body.

The brain is pretty good at adapting to drug abuse, especially with opiate use. For some reason the brain is better at taking long term use of drugs that alter dopamine and serotonin compared to drugs that alter the production of GABA.
You shouldn't worry at all about any permanent shift of brain productivity with your usage.
