Life's Simple Pleasures

- sex
- cuddling with my special someone
- those perfect summer nights
- music <3
- sitting on my back porch, smoking, enjoying the view of the mesa, the sky, and the earth all around me.
- those moments where you just feel so alive.
- a good book.

today i was feeling dangerously low, went for a walk to my local market with my headphones on and just watched people buy fruit, vege, fish and meat, it made me realise we are all just living creatures and for a moment made my problems seem like self indulgent tripe and that i should understand my insignificance.
This was todays good moment

It was fleeting though, i feel like shit again!

~ fresh sunlight
~ warm moonlight
~ spring vegetation
~ little hearty Hyacinths <3
~ i cant find much pleasure in pain(emotional/mental) - but it sure lets us know we are alive in a hurry, more then near anything
~ the ability to distinguish

~ finding the pleasure in pain.... and in how even pleasant things can become painful.
~ the words lava, magma, cactii, cunnilingus..... all fun words to say.
~ a fine tobacco smoke.
~ air so clear and cold, it makes boogers freeze instantly. Ice crystals hover in the air on windy days.

and the ultimate, which makes even the heights of earthly ecstasy seem small....
~ at night, looking out from the shore of the vast cosmic ocean we all live on.

^reading stuff like that
~ coyote & chimney

~ reflections in water, of us; we feel safe watching change of shape of ourselves in there
~ understanding that and how mother~nature speaks

To me a simple pleasure is something anyone can enjoy, and not something that requires money. I like this thread. A few more:

The feeling of warm earth under my bare feet.

Sun intoxication

Friendly conversations with strangers on trains or other neutral public places.

The dreamy warm fuzzy feeling reality has sometimes right when waking up or falling asleep

Finding a shortcut through a place that's usually time-consuming to drive through.

Finding an item of clothing at a thrift store that might as well have been tailor made for me.

waking up to my cat snuggled with me and he is purring.
a good cup of coffee.
a good hair day.
renewing my lease without a rent increase :D

Nothing there for me. nada! zip! asf

I would say watching the sky, but this lately only gets me frustrated at my lack of activity in the plastic arts field. That deepsh!t Turner!

My dogs who are always ready to give me unconditional love
Spring time
The smell of freshly mowed grass
Looking up at a clear blue sky
The feel of the sun and a nice breeze on my face
Walking in the woods and just taking in the beauty of nature
The stars, the planets and the wonder of the universe

I could go on & on ............

--The smell of rain, and distant thunder.

--Wind in the trees.

--Rocking chairs. :)

(Mini-rant, perhaps unrelated)
--I saw a brown pelican on the roof at work a couple of days ago; I've never, ever seen one this far inland before. It was idle, and seemed at ease (though I hope it wasn't sick), and I looked into its eyes, and even from a distance I could see the sentience there, if that makes any sense. It was one of those rare, humbling moments that made me feel like an integral part of the symphony of life. I dunno...it's things like this that have me seriously considering becoming a vegetarian.
