Im doing a paper on legalization of marijana and im having a very tough time finding scholarly information on it. My paper is just strait legalize it. Anyone know any good scholarly websites on legalizing cannabis? Mind sharing some links?

You should focus more on the prohibition of Marijuana ;)

Exactly. Its not why should we make it legal....but why should we continue to make it illegal that we should be asking. The best argument for legalization is that our current prohibitionist model sucks monkey balls (use your own words). The only people that think prohibition works live in a bubble. erowid.org has plenty of resources for your paper. Wikipedia has a pretty decent article to give you some background but DONT USE IT AS A SOURCE. It will shoot your credibility and probably hurt your grade.

title: "Chronic effects of cannabis use on the human reward system: An fMRI study"

abstract: "Cannabis is one of the most used drugs of abuse. It affects the brain reward system in animals, and has proven rewarding and addictive potential in humans. We used functional MRI to measure brain activity during reward anticipation in a monetary reward task. Long-term cannabis users were compared to healthy controls. An additional control group consisting of nicotine users was included. Cannabis users showed attenuated brain activity during reward anticipation in the nucleus accumbens compared to non-smoking controls, but not compared to smoking controls. Cannabis users showed decreased reward anticipation activity in the caudate nucleus, compared to both non-smoking and smoking controls. These data suggest that nicotine may be responsible for attenuated reward anticipation activity in the accumbens, but that differences in the caudate are associated with the use of cannabis. Our findings imply that chronic cannabis use as well as nicotine, may cause an altered brain response to rewarding stimuli."

Is it true? Cannabis don´t seems addictive for me at all, it´s more like internet or videogames type of habit for me. Anything like nicotine of course that hooked me 8 years of compulsive smoking with insecurity feelings and irritability if I couldn´t smoke. Cannabis seems a toy in terms of addiction in comparision with nicotine.

LMAO

Look up articles on pubmed. Those are free and to the public and are peer reviewed.

Write about the effects of Medical herb and how it can help people with cancer and HIV/AIDS.

If you're in college or at a university most of them have free search engine services for scholarly articles.

Go on the NORML website and they may have links with studies showing the benefits of MJ. Pub Med also might have some stuff. You also might look into what has happened in the 13 states who have decriminalized MJ to see if certain trends have been positive or negative. We can't write the paper for you, but you can check out some of these sources. Good luck!

i wouldn't say that the article you're referring to is focused on that idea. it's mainly concerned with the response of smokers to reward stimuli.
