RCs Legality of Mephedrone in the U.S. (4-methylmethcathinone)

What is the legality of Mephedrone (also known as 4MMC and Meow or "Meow Meow" From what I've gathered it is apparently still technically legal in the United States, however, it can also be illegal because of the similarities to Methcathinone (a more well known substance also known as MCAT). Also, I have been told it is illegal in some states in the United States.
