legal weed question

a friend of mine wants to purchase some legal weed, the seller is in nsw and he is located in s.a. if he was to get caught with it he would get done for possesion but would there also be and consequences to the seller for selling it him knowing that it is illegal to ship to that state?

Since when is weed legal in Australia?

Also ofc he could get in trouble for selling weed, that's if they find out he sold it (which I'm not sure they could prove after it leaves his house).

um..."legal weed" is a term that generally refers to synthetic cannabinoid blends.
this isn't really a question for bluelight. we can't give legal advice on this kind of thing - for a lot of reasons, but especially that we don't know what the chemical in question is.
even if we did, we don't discuss sources or sourcing here.

it sounds dodgy as hell though. state governments are all over this stuff now, and 'cracking down' seems to generally involve making an example of people, one way or another.
if you really have to ask, what do you think the most sensible answer is?

Don't do that stuff anyway, the side effects are fucking terrible, not to mention people have died from that stuff...

I imagine that if the substance is legal in NSW yet illegal in SA, the seller would be liable for the illegal sale to the purchaser in SA and/or might be up for federal distribution charges as the transaction is across state lines. I'm not a lawyer, but logically just because it's legal in your area doesn't mean it's OK to send it to an area where it is against the law.

I've only heard of a few deaths involving synthetic cannabinoids, and none of them could be put down solely to that drug (e.g. kid smoking out of a Pez dispenser suffering chemical burns to lungs, I believe there may have a suicide or two in the states).

Not to discount their dangers, I don't consider these substances harmless by any means but using the same standards we could probably attribute more then a few deaths to marijuana.

^ From a legal stand point I think it does; helping people to understand the legal situation and to make better choices when their future could be at risk from a criminal charge counts as harm reduction in my book... in an area like this where people might not see it as so clear cut, I think it's helpful to discuss what the potential outcomes are.

i'd say the best outcome here could be obtaining a substance which contains unlisted research chemicals.

i could be wrong here, but i've never seen a synthetic cannabinoid blend with the active ingredients listed.
personally i see these chems as too risky, but that doesn't stop a lot of folks taking them. the problem is, it is hard to check (with any certainty) that what you are getting is truly "legal"

worst case scenario is that the package gets intercepted and found to contain a banned substance.
i'm not well informed about how the industry has managed to "stay ahead" of the legislation on this - by that i mean, there are many vendors claiming to be selling a legal product, but i have no idea whether this is true or whether they are simply gambling on it not being tested. the market seems to be profitable enough at this stage that such risks may seem worthwhile to the vendor? i can't be sure either way, but i am definitely dubious about the claims of legality.

would the vendor get busted as well? it's hard to say, because it would depend on a number of factors. if they're not discreet, then it would certainly seem possible. the state governments of australia have all acted on this industry in the last year because it was essentially operating openly under their noses for years without their awareness, and now that they've legislated to ban the various RCs used in making synth cannabinoid blends, it seems like the more publicised cases of interceptions/drugs charges the better, in terms of their message. i think there is pride at stake in regard to government and law enforcement, and it seems to me like the ship has sailed. i wouldn't want to be caught for buying something like that online, unless i was pretty confident is truly was legal.

frankly, this isn't a risk i would run. i don't know how quarantine varies from state-to-state, but i know that where i live (WA) there is a big focus on stopping plant/fruit/vegetable matter from entering the state. again though, it is hard to know how big the risk is, but sniffer dogs are frequently used to locate plant matter.
can you find a local vendor of the substance in question?
if you really want to go down the path of synthetic cannabinoids, this would be a much less risky proposition.

What kind of 'legal weed' are you talking? As far as I knew, JWH-073 has been banned Aus wide and I would assume the rest of the JWHs too, under the analogue law, though I don't know for sure.

I agree with spacejunk we do not know what is legal I buy my XXXX and SHHHH from a cairns tobacco shop and he had all of his stock taken
Last week he recieved a letter from the police saying that there were not any banned chemicals in the stock and he was not charged.
Only now do i know for that these products are legal to buy in queensland.I understand these products are sold from cairns to sydney.
I t seems that the only way we will know if all the other brands are legal is to wait for the police to test them .

A 'friend' who worked at xxx last year told me that the police stopped their shipment of Chronic(brand name legal weed) to their G.C store but other boxes were getting through to QLD. Had most customers like it and say it was good when they couldnt get on.

Friend has now left xxx though so not sure if their still selling it, like a lot of stuff at xxx tho theres usually a box out back for u if you dont seem dodgy.

Isn't all that shit illegal now? I had the above mentioned brand name and thought it was weird as fuck, too many side effects for me to enjoy it at all. I like chopping the real buds, or used to, and that crap was already chopped up, no nugs, some fake smell of pineapple or something, crappity crap.
