Left over fentanyl on Myaln patch..

I just took off my 50mcg/hr mylan fentanyl patch. I was told theres still some left on the patch even after the 72 mark and I was wondering what would be the best way I could use the left overs? I was told you could put the patch under your tongue or on the inside of your cheek but I was just looking for a second opinion. And I was wondering what would be the best way to store the left over used patch so as to let the least amount of fent degrade or w/e mite happen. Thanks for any feedback!!

Gumming it is probably best, but I wouldn't recommend doing it in this instance as there's no way for you to know how much fent there is left in the patch. If you wanna try, I recommend gumming no more than an eighth of the patch to gauge its strength.

My doctor prescribes me the Durogesic D-TRANS 50 mcg. per hour patch (amongst many additional medications, i.e. benzos, opiates, gabapentin, etc.) on a regular basis. Lately, I don't even apply the patch at all. I cut it in to three pieces, lay the sticky side on my tongue, then chew and chew and chew. It seems to provide the boost that I seek. I've tried boiling it, using a hair dryer, & heating pads. As always...your mileage may vary

More than half the fentanyl is still in the patch after 72hr.I don't know if the fentanyl is evenly distributed on the patch, especially after it's been used. Be careful.

^it's dispersed evenly (as possible) throughout the matrix adhesive. pulling it off and doing as the OP is wanting after use doesn't seem to hinder that (too much) in my experience using the jannsen-cilag brand, not a generic such as mylan. i'm not sure if the different brand matrix' vary.

storage for a ripped off patch? short term (a day) i have just used an airtight container in my fridge. i don't recommend storing for long though. there seemed to be a significant reduction in effectiveness after storing overnight.

With fent, definatelly we have to be careful, but cutting a used for 72h 50mcg/h patch in 8 pieces, and use 1 of these pieces and expect to feel something, i think it's excessive, expect if the OP is totally opiate naive: \..but this is only my opinion, and i don't suggest anyone to follow this: |. And anyway, you can always take more, so?)...and yeah, i don't forget that this is a harm reduction site...
