I have been taking Choline Alfoscerate (alpha-GPC) supplements because I read a lot of recommendations for it but it costs around €20 for 60 300mg capsules. For the same price, I can get a kilo of lecithin at the health food shop. How does lecithin compare to alpha-GPC as a choline source? I know alpha-GPC is derived from lecithin but I don't know how superior it is as a choline supplement.

Alpha GPC if you have the money is definitely good stuff. GPC has the ability to cross the blood brain barrier, where lecithin is metabolized differently. Ideally, use both in a balanced way. Lecithin is a substance that's used in a lot of ways in the body, and contains more than choline... where GPC is choline only (just the best form of it). There's a product called "Natural Brain Enhancers" you can Google... and if you look you can find it for around $18-19 USD. It has 300 mg GPC and 100 mg of another very desirable substance called phosphatidylserine. It's the best deal I've seen on GPC, with the added benefit of PS.
