There you were standing there in the kitchen.
You weren't waiting for me though
I just walked in to your surprise.
I had a dozen roses for you hidden behind my back.
I smiled at you only to receive a "hi" in return.
I looked at you realizing things were not the same.
I came up behind you and threw my arms around you and surprised you with the flowers.
"Thank you" you said.
I walked to the stereo and inserted a cd.
I told you the song I was about to play
was an expression of my feelings for you.
It began to play
I came up to you and pulled you close to me.
Slowly swaying back and forth to the music.
Tears began to stream down my face.
I held you closer to me. So tight, I was afraid to let go.
The love I felt for you never felt as strong as it did at that very moment.
I wanted to hold you so tightly that we became one.
Never did I want to let you go again.
The fear of losing you gripped me so tightly that I could not breath.
I have never felt a love so strong in all my life.
I looked into your eyes
pleading with you to stay with me.
I fell to my knees in front of you
holding onto you crying
"Please don't leave me, I love you."
You looked at me with those cold eyes and turned away.
That was our final dance.
