Time crawls like a drunk at last call.
There’s no pace; a bottle then a case.
One more will be the downfall.

She slurs and sways, draining a tall
glass of Alizé; eyes sunk into her face.
Time crawls like a drunk at last call.

One a.m. and her dealer drawls,
“Got cash? I’ll swing by your place.”
One more will be the downfall.

Spoon in hand and rig from her bra;
no longer is a dragon being chased.
Time crawls like a drunk at last call.

Coming down, she wants all
her issues to leave without a trace.
One more will be the downfall.

As she walks through death’s hall
she hears a voice say in disgrace
“One more will be the downfall.”
Time crawls like a drunk at last call.

Just joined the board so I figured I'd introduce myself with a poem I've been working on.
