my mouth moved
manipulated by the stage where I stood
before an audience
that heard its own pulse
echoed back as dialogue faded
and i stood alone
shadows swept backstage, left
now hear me
how I want you to hear
and see my gestures
i wave my hand as if it were nothing
but everything drips from my lips
this sound, the sight
of the solitaire cast
will blur the message
and cover those eyes
but the stage is set
so see this for me
you will sense this fading spell
cast in a play.....maybe forever
possibly never again
the taste seems hard
swallowing unveils the surreal
while tomorrows always forget todays
that was the last act
so down fell the curtain
i hoped it would echo
before the velvet crashed down
between forever and before.....
